Not sure if it's just me, but this car seems to have really woken up after clearing the 1000 km mark (Yes, I know, it's taken me 7-months to do about 1200 km)

IMG-2828e.jpg

Full disclosure, I haven't been babying the engine, it been run in quite firmly. However, it now feels so much stronger and really comes alive above 5000 rpm. I've always been a fan of induction note over exhaust noise, mainly because a great induction note will please the driver more the exhaust hanging right out the back. The metallic, hard-edged induction note of this engine is so racy, and one of the key reasons why I chose to buy another Mustang.

Looking for suggestions to completely clean glass on the exterior of the vehicle. Im not sure if it's the pollen, water hardness, or chemicals in the washer fluid. There are small circles all around the glass, above where the wipers reach. It's not just one car but multiple. Glass cleaner, car wash anything doesn't remove them. Im not sure if clay bar would remove these spots, as i have a double sided towel that is claybar one side and micro the other. Is that something I can use on glass, or is there a product that would remove them permanently every wash?
As others have mentioned, it will most likely be water spots caused by water droplets drying rapidly on the glass. As these droplets of water heat up and evaporate, the minerals within the water are left behind, and because of the heat involved, the minerals then etch into the glass or paint. Many believe that ceramic coatings are to blame for water spots, but it can happen on any protection product.

Even if these aren't water spots, considering what you have already tried, the only option from here it to decontaminate then polish them out. A clay bar is worth doing but will only clean the surface and not target what have penetrated deeper than surface level. This would be your workflow -

1. Wash the car as usual.

2. From here, you need to chemically treat with an acid (water spot remover) to break down and neutralize the minerals.

NOTE - Even if you don't see an improvement, this step is still vital in preventing the minerals being reactivated and the spots returning once the surface warms up again.

3. Rinse with water or a quick detailer to neutralize the acidic nature of the water spot remover.

4. Assess. If the spots are gone, you got lucky. If not, then progress to the next step.

5. Polish the glass. You can afford to be very aggressive with pad and compound combinations here as glass is an extremely hard surface and needs that aggression to be effective.

By Machine - Any heavy cutting compound will work, say Sonax CutMax, Megs Ultimate Compound (hard to work with so I don't recommend it), Rupes DA Coarse or Griot's Fast Correcting Creme. Capro make a specific glass polish that contains cerium oxide, but its an absolute pain to work with, so I'm much sooner recommend P&S Clarity Creme instead.

Pad wise, any cutting pad will work, be that wool, microfiber or foam. There are also specific glass pads but they are pretty unforgiving to use. I tend to team Clarity Creme with a Lake Country Blue SDO foam or Rupes DA Coarse Wool. The only thing to be mindful when using a polisher on glass is heat, so don't sit on one spot for extended periods.

Hand - You can polish by hand, if you do, I would get one of small rayon pads sold by Carpro as this significantly improves your efficiency, albeit still requiring a lot of effort. Team this with Clarity Creme to maximise your results.

Good luck.

My sisters XC60 was in the box seat, and for today, I decided to put together a video during the wash phase.

The video kicks with a rinse after cleaning the wheels and foaming the car down with KCx Active Foam. I then foam with KCx GSF for the contact wash, then the final rinse.

After washing, I blew dry and added another layer of Reload to the paint, door jambs via ADS Adapt, exterior glass by Opti-Coat Clean & Protect, interior glass by Stoner's, interior wiped down with ADS Pilot. Finishing off, the wheels got wiped over with Adapt and the tyres topped off with ADS Tire+.

While on the Pressol topic, I heard today that Armour Detail Supply will be carrying them in their own store. Alongside the bottles and sprayers, they will also have their own range of custom labels in brand specific black and green colors.

Agree about getting lucky but I'm just not sufficiently dedicated for step 5.

4. Asses. If the spots are gone, you got lucky. If not, then progress to the next step.

5. Polish the glass. You can afford to be very aggressive with pad and compound combinations here as glass is an extremely hard surface and needs that aggression to be effective.

There was a batch that went out that weren't stainless steel, they look the same but the proper part should be non-magnetic. From what they say, about 2% of their delivery had the incorrect parts, which sounds like a supplier mix up on Pressol's end. Can't help but feel for OG on this one as they fought so hard for these changes for so long.
Interesting, guess I’ll go check mine.

Did my second full wash since I did the coating on my Mazda a month ago. Man I LOVE how Gyeon MOHS behaves on the panel. I just hope it lasts for a while. Can coat didn't last 6 months in the kind of driving I do (40K miles a year)...

Yea that doesn’t surprise me as OG is the USA distributor for them and were looking to have a few brands work with them.

So I checked all my spray tips and sure enough, two of them are steel. Sent an email to OG for replacements.

One last word from me about Bunnings for fellow Aussies...

Tonight 8:30pm ABC's 4 Corners are doing a story on Bunnings.

Four Corners’ Angus Grigg and Emilia Terzon from the ABC business team dig into Bunnings’ unchecked dominance, its soaring profits, and whether regulators have turned a blind eye while it reshapes Australian retail.

And what does our competition watchdog have to say about this:

It took him a while to figure that one out, as in being in control of products and brands that he has helped make notable. There are many instances where his notoriety took blew up a product or tool, only for other retailers to take the lions share.

So, Pressol and Bilt Hamber, his own DI system, OG specific pressure washer parts, the OG-only Kranzle..............................all under his control now. The Pressol Pro-Series I think he has full exclusivity on, so if they end up in Australia, it will be through him.

So I checked all my spray tips and sure enough, two of them are steel. Sent an email to OG for replacements.
Bugger, sorry to read that, but they will have you sorted.

Well I took the day off from work today and drove my Mustang, got caught in an absolute frog strangler downpour. Got home and decided to wash before putting away. Got the wheels done and was fixing to start on the paint and another huge storm blew up. Had to wait almost 2 hours just to finish the job, still in the rain but the thunder and lightning subsided :( Oh the things we do for our rides :) LOL...

How many diesel Ford Ranger's get their exhaust tip polished?

After cleaning with soapy water from my wheel bucket, which was Megs Hyper Wash today, it was time for an old favorite, P21S Polishing Soap.....................................

Following that, Dr. Beasley's Metal Coat, which is a ceramic nano sealant designed to protect chrome, stainless steel and aluminum. Metal Coat seemingly tolerates exhaust heat, making it supremely durable, to the point where it never really falls away. Application couldn't be easier, simply wipe the surface down with prep spray, apply a small amount to a towel and wipe it on, then wipe it off. Metal Coat bonds instantly and is said to last 3-years.

I love the look of this exhaust outlet. In particular, I like how they cut the end of the pipe to be parallel with the road, almost like someone put some thought into this generally unseen part of the car. Actually, the exhaust is only visible on cab-chassis models.

The latest model Ranger looks awful in comparison, basically a pipe that points to the ground just after the diff. There was certainly no thought put into it other than its basic function.

I bet there's a few Rangers in Benning that get their tip polished around Columbus on Friday night.

But gee you know what's amazing...the contrast between the shiny pristine oem+ tail pipe and the hanger. Just saying...yeah...

What's wrong wit you bro? Hella sick foolee dank dump pipe
