It would not be hard to place it over the bell housing & mount it on the drivers side. It was mentioned in this thread that someone had done it.

Great idea but the B&M one looks a bit thin for refilling trans through. I'm thinking of using copper pipe but havr to see if copper fittings are right size and thread to screw into trans and find a dip stick to fit.
Keep us updated on what you figure out!

Well I ordered the B&M dipstick for my 2018 PP1, the real issue is that the hose/tube is to long and there is really no way to shorten it, so I returned it.
I built my own and it works great, the best part is that I can easily add fluid as needed, if needed.
I will be posting pictures of it once I can get back to the shop, as everything is closing up for a month.
Also I want to wish you and yours all the best.
Hi. Did it work?

It’s been noted in this very thread that the B&M F150 10R80 dipstick will not work on the S550:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/2018-10r80-dipstick.136868/#post-2843307

So far, no one has come out with a 10R80 dipstick for the S550. The problem with the one mentioned above is it is too long, therefore no matter how it’s routed won’t matter, the stick itself is too long.

To shorten it would require not only shortening the exterior tube it goes into, but also shortening the stick AND retaining the proper measurement. The biggest issue is just that - getting the proper length of the actual stick to measure the proper fluid reading after it’s been shortened, otherwise it’s just time and $$$ wasted.

For trial and error purposes, once the stick and tubing is cut, and if cut too short, it’s trash - and that’s a $250.00 mistake that can’t be returned for money back…

This dipstick will work. This is the exact same one as the B&M but is $35 on ebay. I have a 12v pump that has a semi rigid tube that will reach through the dipstick tube all the way into the pan so pumping fluid out & back in is simple.

So I guess you made sure the transmission was properly filled, then run the dipstick down the line, pulled it back out and marked where the fluid is on the dipstick for future drain and service?

Yes & you can also line up the new fitting where it screws into the transmission where the factory cap goes then transfer the number lines from the factory dipstick to the new one.

I've found it on eBay. From your photos It looks like it would be about the right length.
I'm just wondering if it would get damaged by the heat from the exhaust. It's very close to the cat. I'm wondering if it may need a heat shield. Thanks for the info.

To be on the safe side I ordered some tube heat shield to cover it. But if the oxygen sensor that screws into that catalytic converter wiring doesn't get hurt I figured this is farther away that the sensor is.
