Hi buddy. I did a lot of homework on how to make the Raptor tow well, and I was happy with it, for what I was doing at the time. It was a low frequency, low demand type thing to do with it.Whoa, Jamie! Was the Raptor not enough for towing purposes? In any event, no problems now. :-)
Plans have changed, and I need a more capable tow vehicle. In 4.5 years (but who's counting), I am retiring from the fire service (thank Christ) and getting the hell out of this god forsaken state. I will be packing up the car, and as much as I can stuff into the trailer, my wife, two dogs, and as much as I can stuff in the Super Duty, and headed for somewhere in Texas. Once retired, I will want to tow all over the place and hit the events that I have always wanted to attend. For these reasons, and more, I made the switch.
Thanks! As mentioned, I made it work, and it worked fine for the once a year I needed it. That said, I cannot argue with you, the Super Duty is made for this kind of thing.Congrats Jaime, I know you liked your Raptors, but in my humble opinion, they were not designed as tow vehicles. Love the new truck.
I am old school and love my 2002 Excursion and 2001 F250, both 7.3"s for towing.
I actually like them. For the first time, I do not intend on changing them...... (for now).Interesting wheels on that truck.
I just spent the day on Saturday adding back in the wired key pad. It's stupid that they DC'd them, but where there's a will, there's a way. It cost me $95 and maybe 4 hours of my time. Luckily I have the KSA to do these things. Forscan experience helps too.Ford’s made some interesting choices with the changes on the 25’s. Those wheels aren’t to bad. They removed some previously standard equipment on the 450’s. The rapid red is a very nice color on these trucks.
I also lucked out that they added the passenger side auto locking hub back in on the 25's. I can't believe they even tried taking away that option, it was a big reason that people went with Ford.
I am a fan of the wheels. For 2024, they were matte black, which is stupid on a truck that has gloss Agate Black accents. Luckily for me, the 2025 went gloss black, which is why I am keeping them.
2025 also switched from Rapid Red Metallic to Ruby Red Metallic, which is yet another personal preference of mine. My last red truck (2015 F150 Platinum) was Ruby Red, so it's nice to be back in Ruby, lol.
I do like Rapid Red and I would have been happy with that color too. To be honest, unless side by side, it's hard to tell the difference between the two of them.
