Out of everything you spewed, this I can ACTUALLY believe  IMO the last Ford you should be purchasing is the "Spirit of America" because clearly you have something against everything we used to stand for.....but I digress.
Dude grow up already.

So just to clarify, you think the US should be taken advantage of when it comes to tariffs? The difference in percentage between what others charge us for tariffs and what we charge is absurdly unjust.
I didn't justify anything. I think the tariff thing is a joke on both sides. Like many have said understand what is being talked about and not what people are omitting.

If you take price out of the equation and just look at the car, I think it's actually super cool to see a Mustang doing supercar things. Some of those turns they made on the ring blew me away. Seeing a Porsche do it is one thing but I really never thought I would see a Mustang do it. Considering the weight makes it even more impressive, like they're racing a tank or something. My biggest gripe so far isn't the price, since I couldn't afford it even for wholesale, it's the tiny gas tank. I wouldn't even have known it was an issue if not for this thread.

The Dark Horse R gets a fuel cell, why doesn't the GTD? No room?

If I had the excess money I'd buy this thing with zero hesitation, unfortunately it isn't in the cards. Although in reality, I have the money and I could buy it, but this whole responsible living thing is getting in the way (grumbles old man crap, kicks the cat, and proceeds to yell at his wife as he stumbles away in sadness). lol

I dont know, I didn't ask. I do know lots of people who have done the same.

As for guarantees, as far as i know, if you have an allocation, it's yours.
If enough people kicked the can down the road a year, I wonder if that will then force Ford to produce these cars for a longer period of time than originally planned. Multimatic can only make so many in a production year. If it’s a couple dozen it may not have a huge impact but if that number is closer to 100 (or more) then I bet they start having to produce these cars car for at least one additional model year to fill all the allocated slots.

There are people buying this car unconditionally. Quite a few actually. I'm not worried about Ford.

I have no doubt Ford will make them, I just wonder if there’s too many deferrals if that forces them to extend production an extra year. There might not be because, as you said, there are plenty of people willing to take them now without any hesitation. I just wonder how many are in the same camp as you and Charlie that want to wait a year. May very well be a number that does not require a need to push into an extra production year.

The weight release........ well..... actually it wasnt a release, it was discovered and published by Tob, is very heavy. Speaking from experience turning 4000 pounds is bad enough and now it's 400 pounds more without a cage. Next up is the fuel tank size. 16 gallons isn't enough and i don't think it is possible to overcome that limitation. Maybe they will add an auxiliary tank in future iterations, who knows.

Lots of folks who make videos and do the cars and coffee thing will be more than happy to step into one of these allocations. At some point the deferals will be assigned an engagement window and a decision will have to be made. I anticipate at that time the feet will be put to the fire and if the selectee passes, someone will be notified to step in and offered the allocation.

I know nothing because Ford told me nothing (to include the weight) so I have no idea what Ford plans to do with this car. Speaking from experience and previous observations, if the car was a huge success, production years would be extended.

Ford is back at the Ring. I do believe they will better their times this year. That will probably re-engage some people's interest. My interest won't be aroused until I know how this car will be able to throw 4500 pounds around (with a cage) under normal conditions for 30 mins straight and not run out of gas. A single lap time means nothing to me. A single lap time without demonstrating endurance leaves me with the conclusion that this car could be a one trick pony.

I do hope they can offer a solution for those of you that want to run it exactly as it was intended and not have fuel issues. An auxiliary tank could be a good solution but it probably becomes a question of where to put it. I would assume space is limited for something like that. And it will add more weight to an already heavy car.

I do hope they can offer some solutions in the coming year or two for you all. It would be really cool to see a GTD flying around Daytona.

Best of luck, Tom (and Charlie and others). Please keep us posted as you are able.

Based on the 500 and the 16 gallon tank, it will fly around Daytona until about the 16 or so minuite mark. My prediction is that this problem only affects a very small percentage of people and it probably isn't going to be addressed. This situation is very similar to the half shaft defect on the 500. The problem is only at Daytona with a very few amount of people who actually run their cars flat out.

So no, I really dont anticipate a fix, but I'll hang out to see what happens.

And while the EPA emissions certification for the GTD has been out for some time, CARB sat on their approval for a few months before finally posting it. I've been watching this one for a while and it just popped up a few days ago as much as it was signed in early January.
LOL CARB....

Well Ford lost supply chain from UA and CN unless they want to pay 104% plus many Germans and UK companies have halted shipments to USA......will be far more difficult to execute this program on time.
