Hey, I hope everyone is having a good day! I just wanted to show you guys my new wall of detailing equipment that I finally finished.
I spent a ton of time researching which brands I wanted to go with and spent even more time installing all of this. But in the end it was well worth it. I ended up going with most of the stuff Obsessed Garage recommends but I decided to go with my own version on the plumbing and the spotless DI water tank setup.
I work full time and do paint correction and ceramic coating work on the weekends. Detailing is my passion and this new setup makes everything so much easier and more enjoyable and saves so much time when it comes to setting everything up for a detail and then putting it all away.
Here is the list of what I bought.
Pressure washer - Ar Blue 630TTS
Pressure washer shelf - Poka Premium
Pressure washer hose - Kobrajet
Pressure washer hose reel - Cox reel
Pressure washer sprayer, wand and nozzle - Obsessed Garage
Pressure washer wand holder - I made this out of Pvc pipe and painted it black.
Spotless water tank - Griot's Garage. I painted this blue to match the theme of black and blue. Also built the stand it's sitting on and then painted the strap that secures it black.
As you can see in the picture there are 3 hand valves, that is so I can switch between regular water and DI spotless water. I added an inline filter so that when I switch to DI water there is no chance of the resin from the DI tank making its way to the pressure washer and clogging it.
All of the plumbing valves, hoses and fittings were done in stainless steel. Used a elbow on the inlet of the pressure washer so the lines would look nicer. Also added anti vibration mounts on the feet of the pressure washer.
The two switches to the side of the pressure washer are to turn on the power to the pressure washer and the other one is to turn on the water so that I don't have to turn a knob like a normal water spigot.
The extension cord is self retractable and is made by Griot's Garage.
The Vacuum is made by Cana-Vac.
I also have access to my air hose which is on a dewalt hose reel.
This has made setting everything up to wash a car so much faster. I simply connect the wand to the hose via quick disconnects and hit two buttons and I'm on my way to washing the car.
If anyone has any questions let me know!

Nicely done! How do you handle the TDS count to determine when the DI resin is expired?
Thank you, I have a stand alone TDS meter from Griots Garage.

Well done that man!

I did mine last year, like you I spent a lot of time researching and putting everything together. Most of what needed I bought as a package, but it's all the little finishing touches that takes time to locate. I didn't do the water filtration though as my water is pretty decent.

And nicely chosen regarding the OG-spec gun, wand and nozzle. Yes, it might be expensive, and yes, it looks similar to all the rest. But with the superior quick connects and that integrated swivel, it all adds up to the best on the market.

Very nice. I did the same this year. Wall shelf, hose reel, power outlet beside the washer to plug directly in. My filter sits in the corner, but I have quick disconnects to keep it all setup and move when I need to... It does make setting up and cleaning cars very quick... I have a battery powered vacuum, that is the only thing I lack at the moment :)

Ballpark cost estimate to do a complete set-up?
Too many variables to make that assessment. You could do a wall setup for less than $2K or over $10K. Major factors are the PW, hose selection, reel selection, piping, labor to install, etc.

If you want to see some wall mount solutions and get an idea of price range, check out Obsessed Garage. Start at the lower end price range with the Active 2.0 all the way up to the dual Kranzle solution.

Thanks! Yeah, that integrated swivel is so nice. I don't have to fight with the hose nearly as much. And that rubber protector around the nozzle is a must have in my opinion.

My water isn't so bad but I have noticed that even with low tds water, I would still get water spots. If you use a drying aid after a wash its not that big of a problem but I would still get spotting in places like door jambs, under the hood, and around my emblems.

I only use the DI water for the final rinse, so I'm hoping the resin will last a little bit longer. Either way I am keeping track of how many washes that I get from it before I have to replace the resin.

Nice! It isn't cheap but once it's all done and you see how much easier it makes things it makes it all worth it. Quick disconnects are a must!

Yes I love my setup. It isn't really that high end but it works.

It really depends on allot of different things. So to start with, If you cant install this yourself, your going to have to hire a carpenter, a plumber and an electrician.

I had to open up my wall and reinforce it before I could even mount the pressure washer.

Then it depends on what pressure washer, what hose, what reel, what wand and sprayer, what DI tank and what you get for plumbing and connections. I have all stainless steel parts and mosmatic fittings which are more expensive then other options.

Ballpark price was probably around $2500.00 to $2800.00 for just the parts for the pressure washer setup. It can be done cheaper depending on what you choose.

Thanks. I wish my garage had a wash bay or at least a drain so I could rinse off all the salt metro Detroit uses on the roads this time of year.

I mounted my setup to a piece of 3/4” birch plywood that I painted with tinted waterproof sealant. I then mounted that board to the 2x4 studs. No need to open the walls up.

However, I’m about to start a complete remodel and take down the drywall so I’ll end up blocking the studs so I don’t have to reuse the board upon reinstall.

At the end of the day the car does not know if it is being washed with a $200.00 pressure washer setup or a $3000.00 setup. As long as your happy with it that is all that matters.

I went high end on mine because it gets allot of use and I detail on the weekends.

Nice. Yeah I opened up the walls because I think it looks better without that board. Do you know roughly how many washes you are getting from the DI resin?
