I posted my disappointment of the 2024 GT's performance in my experience and am asking here should I look backward 2018-20 at a GT based on the mid 55K price of a 24 ?

Bang for buck is always higher with a used car, just need to evaluate if the extra features of the latest model are worth the extra dough to you.

I'd look at used 2023. Maybe a Mach 1? Not sure what they're going for these days. Depends on mileage and general condition of the car.

If I didn't already have my GT and was looking for a Mustang now, I would 100% go get a 22 or 23 Mach 1 vs. the 2024 or 2025 model.
I'd do the same thing. Shame they discontinued it. I'd be interested to see what a 2024 Mach1 would go for and what it would look like.

What is it that disappointed you about the performance?

I tested a '24 for a weekend. The performance in general didn't disappoint me persay. But the performance increase seemed minimal when compared to the '22 I was testing. But the price difference was decently drastic. So I picked the 22.

But I did like the '24 Overall.

It all comes down to looks and which you prefer. I would not pay for a '24 at all even with a 15 -20% discount. The dash kills the whole sporting grand tourer vibe turning it into a cheap minivan interior from my perspective. Very poor execution they should have looked at Alfa or Maserati or other with bezel and in dash digital for inspiration.

Rental car companies soaked them up in USA while in Canada they sold 50% less on a per capital basis (dealers are not ordering spec units and specs they have are sitting.)

If you don't mind the dash you should be able to drive a hard bargain for one since many spec units were ordered to qualify for pick up allocations.

If I was after V8 I'd go for '21-23 M1 or GT PP with Magnaride and extended certified used Ford warranty. Should be able to find easily given how poorly auto credit is performing right now.

+1 on buying a used mach 1 if you find one for a price you are happy with.

But i dont like the s650 and love the mach 1 (its probably my favorite of all), so i might be biased.

FWIW i dont have a mach 1, so i have no real horse in that race. But i want to get one eventually

My issue is they half-assed the "updated" interior. They essentially put a modern looking skin on the interior. Nothing new, tech-wise, to talk about. They should have at least added the option for things like heads' up display, night vision, or any other higher-end options available. Don't get me started on the Dark Horse. They should have at least made it equal to the GT350.

You'll always be able to hop it up (eventually it will be unlocked), so stock performance is more of a temporary disappointment.

I'd go for what you like the looks and feel of better myself. It's hard to justify the price of a new car, though. I recently bought my 2020 10R80 PP1 with PP2 wheels, and damn, that thing still smelled new. I got at a big discount off of a new one, and am very happy with it.
