I don't see the need for a backup sensor when you have a backup camera. I trust that more than any car with a backup sensor that I've driven.

I have the backup camera, it beeps when you backup and as the object you are trying to avoid gets closer the beeps get closer together, it's both a visual and audio thing.

^This! It's extremely useful and the audio is MUCH better than just the camera. It's fantastic when you are backing out of a parking spot and can't see a thing. It will alert you before you could ever see, even before the camera.
I wish the BLIS had an audible too. My wife's Mazda has the normal BLIS with the light in the mirror. The nice thing about hers is, if she turns on her turn signal when there's a car there, it will beep at her. It's more attention getting than just the light in the mirror. It doesn't beep if you don't turn on the turn signal.

It scared me a few days ago when a car was driving by as I was backing out of the drive way. I do not have sensors. I am guessing it is just built in with the back up camera?

No, the camera is just that a camera. The audible option has four sensors on the rear bumper.
I don't know if its a premium option or not.

Ah well. I have a premium car so maybe that is it. I definitely do not have the sensors.
Quick note, it takes over the car stereo and starts to beep for sure. And I want to say a female voice came on when we were backing out the drive way.

yea need the sensors. Bumper looks better without them, just need to make sure you pay attention to the camera. I was spoiled when i had my EB Prem. Big screen AND alerts. Now I have to reverse the way our forefathers did it.

Seems like its an option called Reverse Sensing System for $295.
So you are saying without the sensor it still beeps? How does that work?

Mine beeps when someone is coming towards me from either side when I am backing up but it does not beep at all in conjunction with the camera. That is a separate option and is an extra option as stated above

Do you have BLIS system?
The BLIS has two sensors on the side of the bumper I believe but only two.

I do not think I am explaining this properly. When I get into the yellow zone it beeps, not a continuous beep when I start backing up.
I do have BLIS, and that makes sense because the car was coming from my left as we were backing out of the driveway. I stopped at the edge of the driveway and it still said whatever it said.
