I use Hagerty for my performance vehicles and I know they cover exotics as well.

I did a quick search and a thread over at the GT forum (from back in 2013) said it was about 2k per year. There was another reference to a member over there who works for another insurance company that gets good rates as well. So with inflation and such, I'm expecting in the neighborhood of 3k per year.

However I dont know for sure.
GT rates are probably a good start. Wildcard is being in FL given all the insurance rate hikes there recently. If you can find someone in your neck of the woods with a policy on the most recent gen GT (even prior gen would work), that’s probably a good budget number.

Today,

I received an acceptance to become a GTD recipient. It was quite the process and I'm glad to see it come to fruition.

Please join me in my journey from ordering to delivery, and of course, track use at the Daytona International Speedway.

Congrats Tomster and good luck in getting one of these beauties! We saw one at NY Auto show in spring. It’s an amazing stang.

Hagerty would be best since it would be agreed value versus other insurances companies not generally being agreed values but rather use depreciating value tables IMO, but then I have never had anything except ordinary vehicles either so never asked if everyday insurance companies offer agreed value coverage.

Color? No idea. I was going to see which are offered as standard and the option for a custom color.

Curb weight? As far as I know, that has not been released. I've heard numbers from unofficial sources, but I would like to get the official ones (and I would bet that will depend on how the car is optioned).

I imagine the weight would be confidential and Subject to the NDA.

I’d like to know what is the longevity of the stress points where that upper spoiler is attached to the rear metal structure of the window framing. Anyone know how that is secured from the back side?

Has that area of the rear 1/4 panels/entire rear window frame area been strengthened on the GTD body shells compared to say a standard S650??

Multimatic put out a video that says that is the strongest point on the rear of the car. Reason they mounted the wing the way they did. I have no reason to doubt this.

As far as insurance I cannot see any company using a 35K base price car as a templet for rates on a 325K car.

If the VIN comes back as a standard GT and the company charges for a standard GT what would happen if the car gets totaled on the freeway? I don't see them covering the entire amount, just the 35K or whatever they use as a valuation on a GT.

My assumption is the VIN will come back as a GTD and the rates will be in the same range as a 300K Ferrari or other exotic sports car.

Hopefully Tom will let us know

If you can pick your color that would be awesome. I'm my dreams I would do ford Green gem W6 with those wheels. Wow.

Paging @kilobravo

Please proceed to the closest white courtesy phone.

I can't think of a better color expert and I'd like your thoughts on potential colors for the GTD.

Housewife blue..... a color that fell off the map until it was resurrected in a heritage theme. Hmm.

I've seen it in person and it really doesn't do much for me, especially when I can have whatever I want.

What's the preoccupation with Britney blue? My wife (who was around when it came out) was the one who said that is what it was called in the era. Aka, nobody spec'd it except the housewife types back then.

The world is my oyster.
