I'm jealous as well, but appreciate that you'll allow us to tag along on the journey. It should be a fun one.

Today,

I received an acceptance to become a GTD recipient. It was quite the process and I'm glad to see it come to fruition.

Please join me in my journey from ordering to delivery, and of course, track use at the Daytona International Speedway.

I don't either. The youtube model seems like getting a new latest and greatest works well for likes/views/subscribers, but to have to make payments on a $400K car for the limited shelf life it offers (in terms of viable channel co tent that brings in the bacon, it doesn't make sense.

Then again, they will jist wind up flipping the car anyway, so nevermimd.

I'm already geared up to hear Austin cry about the consumables that the car will go through due to its weight. He dis it with the 500 and I don't think it will be any different this time around.

Have a look at his 500 videos just before he dumped it. He didn't have kind words to say about it. He's lucky he got an allocation, but then again, Ford is just feeding on his exposure and his channel.
I tend to avoid most influencers...unless they have objective information that helps me. I'm a Joe Friday (Dragnet) fan. "Just the facts, ma'am."

I appreciate your approach in sharing, Tom. You have displayed a legitimately desire to help people, beyond enjoying the experience yourself, which we are glad you do. Of course, that makes you an influencer on this forum, albeit unofficially.

Best wishes with your GTD experience. Glad you were chosen.

Congrats Tom. Do you have an idea on MSRP on a “fully loaded/spec’d” car ? I’ve only seen the 325k number but wasn’t sure what options would be available

They all said similar about the GT500. OMG, a $100,000 Mustang.

And the GT4, GT3 are all just Mustangs too, right? Well sort of.

When Multimatic puts their hands on "a Mustang", especially with a no holds barred approach with orders to "throw the kitchen sink at it", it is going to be something special.

Think about what the Mustang brand is and how it has touched so many people inside and out of regular everyday cars all the way to podium finishes at Lemans. The brand means something and that is why Jim Farley chose to produce an example that would far exceed the ability of the GT3 racecar.

I struggled with throwing the Mustang name onto such an engineering marvel and performance icon. But it really comes down to what the Mustang brand stands for and optimizes.

Yes it's a Mustang. Yes it will probably outperform most anything out there. No, the offender probably didn't apply for, nor receive and allocation, or didn't want to get a second mortgage to have to pay for it.

We all knew there would be sour grapes and haters. Let them hate but also enjoy all the youtube videos of the people enjoying their cars while they sit on the sidelines.
