nah, they are the potatoes. The MEAT is the DIFF lockouts. The diff bounces all over the place and it's the axles and wheels that are tied into the Diff.

305/30R20 Michelin PS4S in the rear. They are at the recommended cold pressure of 35 psi.

manual calls for 32psi donnit? Most cars i push the PSI up a bit for crisper steering but i've noticed with my Mustang if i go past 33-34 PSI the traction gets pretty squirrely especially in the winter

I had to check. The manual references the sticker in the door jamb, see below…

Door jamb sticker is a loose recommendation based solely on Ford discretion with the OEM tires at STP and typical driving dynamics.

Change size, compound, model, and conditions and the sticker is irrelevant.

For example my mach1 is shod with 285/35r20 ps4s and they work best in the summer heat 85f at 35psi measured at 70f. I had them previously at varying psi (lower) and the tires just didn't work correctly.

On the Audi, the 265/40r18 conti dws06 work best at 36 at 70f. Door says 38 or 40 psi I don't remember.

You’re misinterpreting my post. Guy asked what the factory recommended tire pressure is in the manual (he said 32), I’m merely showing what it says.

I get that there are different optimal pressures for different tires. But at the end of the day, you have to start somewhere, and I chose the factory recommendation. It’s a street car, a pound or two difference on these roads, at these speeds, won’t matter too much. I’m not pushing the car 9/10ths.

I’m more concerned about the movement of the subframe at this point, hence the OP.

The IRS braces help even if the diff bushings are torn. That cradle moves more than the diff.

I run 32 @70F they go up to 36 after 40 min normal freeway driving @ 80F. Even city driving low speed I see 3-4 psi variance.

PS4S tire is nearly worst possible choice for daily, especially in wet - they need heat to perform, even if it's a wet track heat.

Yeah sorry about that, i didn't think of them spec'ing different pressures for different tires. My car came with the 255/40r19s and the door says 32.

Haven't ever found that and have run these these tires on 3 makes/models now. I can drive them a couple miles and pull an easy g on hard cornering and they last 20-30k and are quiet enough. I wouldn't run them hard on a winter day though.
