10r80 overheat or bigger issue?

So after there lengthy diagnosis they came back to tell me they think it was over filled and they did nothing. Makes no sense.

I was thinking of just upgrading trans cooler and forgetting about it and enjoying, other than that one extreme example the transmission is amazing.

Just give it hell. If it breaks warranty will take care of it.

Yeah. I beat on mine like it owes me money and it keeps on ticking.

That’s the spirit. Use it how they intended when they built in and have them fix it if it breaks.

No, the operating temperature is 206-215.

My trans temp on my 10r80 went to 230 before I realized it. It did not like that two one bit!! This was the result!

It only made that noise when it was put it into gear or when I came to a stop and the transmission went back to 1st. There was so much metal in the transmission and converter.

Hello all. First of all excuse me for not being very knowledgeable about this subject. Today I did some spirited driving in my A10 2019 GT PP1 and noticed that at high speeds my transmission oil temp was getting very high (215° and up!!!) shortly after if I applied even the slightest bit of throttle the engine speed would just increase and rev up but it didn’t feel like any power was getting put down, engine revved to about 4500 and everything felt very clunky then I saw a lot of smoke coming out from behind me!!! Could I have damaged something or are we looking at just a simple case of overheating? I’ve tried looking at other threads but can’t find anything related. This has happened in the past before, at quick highway speeds temp rises quickly and gears feel as if slipping now today smoke. Appreciate any input thanks!

215 isn't that bad. Not great but not bad.

well i have the same issue at high speed the transmission got cooked, while being gentle will never get overheated. Yeah the smoke came because if the transmission overheated there is a vent on the top of the transmission that releases some of the fluid to reduce the temperature of the transmission. Which obviously spreads all over the bottom of the car and makes it smoke.
I am still trying yo fix it, and will update the thread when ever i have something to share.
