So I bought my 2019 mustang GT with performance packs 1 and 2 at 19k miles used. I’ve already had one transmission replaced because it was toast, the new one is starting to have the same behavior, is it just a lemon?

Need more details as to what is actually happening with the trans.

Was the initial trans replaced with a new trans or rebuilt or?

It was replaced with a new transmission not a rebuilt one, trans hangs from 1st to 3rd and wouldn’t shift all the way into 1st from park, it would also just stop working in the middle of the road. So it was replaced. The new one is starting to exhibit 1st to third symptoms

Are you out of warranty now? If so, how far are you willing to go to build it stronger?

I’m out of the factory warranty but I have an extended warranty that’s good for another 4 years

I see, so is it safe to assume that you will pursue having another factory one installed? One thing that should be done is ensure that the tech installs a new slave cylinder. Many times people install a new tranny and clutch, but retain the old slave cylinder. This can lead to trouble down the road. It’s a $150 part bolted to the transmission with two little bolts (takes all of 30 seconds to swap it out).

You say the car has Performance Pack 2 but you also stated "Park."

Is park a misnomer or is the car automatic PP1 only?

If this is an automatic tranny, please disregard my last post.

PP1 auto, roger. I'd expect any newly manufactured 10R80s to be pretty decent at this point, I'm surprised. I know there's a huge thread around here that discusses all the issues with them.

Maybe a tune would straighten out the way the car shifts. Perhaps try emailing one of the well known tuners and explain to them, the issues you’re having and see if it can be straightened out via a good tune.
