10 speeds need to be put together is a surgically clean environment. The OEM ones are done in a sealed room. Bad things usually happen when they get taken apart and set on random shop rags. The replacement transmission should have had its own warranty?

I see, so is it safe to assume that you will pursue having another factory one installed? One thing that should be done is ensure that the tech installs a new slave cylinder. Many times people install a new tranny and clutch, but retain the old slave cylinder. This can lead to trouble down the road. It’s a $150 part bolted to the transmission with two little bolts (takes all of 30 seconds to swap it out).
I don't think that applies as it's an automatic transmission; he mentioned it won't go into 1st from Park. I don't know of any manual that has a "Park" position.
