Has anyone tried to replace the shifter on their auto transmission to a manual transmission shift knob? Just curious on how I would do the conversion and how much work is possible to make it fit I wanted to put a likewise shifter in my 2016 automatic stang. And yes I know I should have gotten a manual but I’m already very deep in my build.

Not hard to do at all.

Get the manual boot also as the auto boot leaves something to be desired, at least on my 2019. My next mod once the weather warms up!!!

Yeah I was just looking into that I’m about to get a custom bride shift boot combined with the likewise shifter it’s about to look crazy

Likewise as in the likewise app? They have shifter handles?

Got a link for them?

This is one mod that I’ve always thought about but every time I look at them I have difficulty swallowing the price.... now if it adds a few horsepower or makes me quicker I never seem to balk at those...

Man I really want to do a quick release and get a grip royal wheel but I don’t know if it’s worth losing the paddles. I wish ford would have put them on the steering wheel column like many other cars

Ah ok.

Those are just the knobs... not the actual shifter. May want to figure out how to mount it. The only ones I’ve seen that work for the auto are the whole shifter mechanism that includes the knob. Lots of nice ones out there, but just the shift knob won’t work, at least I haven’t seen one that does.

Depends on how often you REALLY use the paddles. Also lose all the buttons and airbag which I'm sure you're aware of. Is this a DD, race car, fun weekend, etc? This may not even be possible. Someone had a thread on a quick release type wheel and didn't get much help on how/why.

I looked at the knobs you linked. Are all of them metal (aluminum)? Metal shift knobs get HOT/COLD but for an auto might not matter that much. Just food for thought.

It’s mostly just a weekend cruiser/ show car I have a DD now so now it’s time to make it as crazy as possible I love jdm cars so I’m trying to do something out of the ordinary. Currently I’m trying to sel my 3 piece rotiforms for a new set of 3 piece wheels that no one has ever ran on a mustang before and I want to add some camber and I know everyone hates it but to each their own I build my car for myself and not what others think lol. Here’s a few shots of my car currently

WMG makes a threaded shifter.
