No update from the dealer or my Ford CSM. Guess we'll see what happens tommorrow
Keep us posted! I just sat in my car for no less than 15 minutes and sure enough, right as it got warmed up and the RPMs dropped to ~700 the 'sputtering' noise started. Definitely coming from underneath the car and definitely near the transmission housing.

Now, if that were the only thing it would be hard to determine what it was, but that's not all folks. As soon as I press the clutch in to the floor, the RPMs go up about 100 and the noise stops, as soon as I depress the clutch, the RPMs drop to ~700 and the noise comes back.

I just wonder how many people this happens too and if it is normal.. I hate the sound... it is absolutely disgusting. I was about 30 feet from my car while it was warming up and I could hear it.

I dont think the RPMs are supposed to go up at all are they? When Ive pressed the clutch in before on my S197 the RPMs never went up. Makes me wonder what else is wrong in the trans of our cars.

It's still not quite to full operating temperature, so that could be it. You can hear and see the RPMs go up though. Once it settles back down to full idle the noise comes back. I can't see how it would be normal...

Waiting to hear back from the Service Manager this morning, supposedly the advisor told me they are trying to source another simliar GT to test? Maybe they are going to see if its affecting more models than mine and get it escalated.... or worse they are going to tell me this is "normal" and send me home again. Lets play dealership BINGO.

My RPMs go up slightly when I push in the clutch. They also go up when I slowly let out the clutch and my foot is nowhere near the throttle. The car is smart and knows when it needs RPMs.

My car needs to smarten up and stop making noises that should be coming out of a 1988 VW Rabbit.

Crazy Update:

Service manager let me know that it seems Ford doesn't have just the throw out bearing available to order, its possibly they may replace the entire transmission completely. If I heard correctly they were just going to try and give me a new vehicle but they dont have my exact package in stock. Might know something this afternoon about the next step they are going to take, or at least by Friday afternoon.

I would laugh at them. Sounds like most people who look / listen for this problem have it. The 2015 sitting on their lot or the one they are about to build is going to have the same TOB and therefore the same problem. You should tell them to do the exact same test on one of their GTs in stock, I bet it makes the noise.

Same with the 'new transmission' they would give you. It's just another stock TOB, is it not?

Did they say this occurs in other GTs on the lot? What would giving you a new car accomplish if the issue is a production issue (not just localized to your car)

They dont have any other manual GTs on lot currently. Im guessing giving me a new vehicle that wasnt built on that specific time range may solve the problem, but they would also be able to maybe send my vehicle to Ford direct for diagnosis so that since it may be a widespread issue they can issue out an accurate TSB and course of action to resolve others problems. They probably just want to make sure that I have a vehicle just like the one in the shop, because after all Im making payments on a new car stuck at the dealer.

Changing the tranny!!!!!!

A tob is not even part of the transmission itself!!! so if they put a new tranny they gonna have to reuse your original tob since it seem it is on backorder!!! And that will solve nothing. Sometime I just don't get it!! I guess maybe the 2015 tranny come with the tob when ordered as a spare part even if it's located outside the tranny?

Like you said crazy!!!!

What is your build date? Mine is 10/22 for reference. What's yours? Maybe others that have the same problem can post their built date?

Yeah to be honest I really cant tell you what their thought process is. Logically taking it apart and visually inspecting the TOB would be the most realistic one, rather than possibly taking a risk and that not even being the issue. My CSM hasnt really been in great contact with me either, Ive been having to call and even then they havent been in constant communication with the dealer, plus shes about to go on "vacation". Im not even sure what the next point of escalation is outside of Legal and through social media like Jalopnik and Car and Driver.

My build date is 11/19

I purchased my car before that date, so i'm willing to bet my build date was much sooner than that :)
