Considered it but many people complain about the vibration and say it’s just too much for a street car and I would like to keep the daily drivability
I guess it must vary from car to car. I have them on mine, along with lots of other hardcore suspension components and vibration is very minimal. I’d say a 2.5-3 on a scale of 1-10. I drove 1300+ miles with them and the ride wasn’t the least bit uncomfortable.

Poly mounts tend to not be very harsh as they still allow a bit of flex - delrin or solid though I'd stay away from...I'm pretty tolerant of noises and I daily drove mine up until about 4 months ago (98k miles currently) - and even with a bumper exit I wouldn't do Delrin/Solid mounts :D

The engine barely twists even with stock mounts. Have someone rev it in your driveway while you watch. That shop dented it instead of shifting the engine or zip tying like you did. Kooks would be your best bet from what I've read. That AC block on the newer GT's is tough to fit around.

I’ve heard that Kooks are reportedly a good fit. I have ultimate Headers LTHs on mine and clearance is extremely good. No interference at all and I didn’t have to shift my motor over.

I don't understand them denting it that much. I know it's a tight fit but dang. I have Texas speed as well and I did the install 3yrs ago with no experience what so ever ( certified youtube mechanic at best ..lol ) there was just enough clearance. maybe I just got lucky.

May consider ultimate headers then, I want to swap out just the headers(not the connections pipes) but the kooks aren’t the same connection as texas speed and I wouldn’t want to buy the full cat set from kooks as that is $3400 and I’m a little bit low on money atm

Are the Texas Speed headers slip fit design? My car is currently on the lift, so let me know if you’d like to see more pics of the headers on both sides to show how much clearance is there.

I think the texas speed headers are slip fit design, I’m not the most mechanically inclined and new to this stuff so maybe search it up just in case I am wrong.
I have the texas speed 18-23 catted connection headers to specifiy.

And yea if you could show more pics of the ultimate headers I’d appreciate it, some top down photos like the ones I posted would be good.

also forwhen I see the pictures is the clearance with the engine mounts adjusted?Or did u not have todo that, because I don’t want to have to screw with my engine mounts.
Thank you so much for all ur help ima dvance

I did lower my engine 1/4”, but that was to make sure the cat bodies cleared the floorpan. I was wanted to make sure that I had enough clearance and could avoid false engine knock.

I now have Vibrant mini race mufflers in place of the cats and clearance has been increased more between the mini race mufflers and floorpan, so if you’re catless, you shouldn’t have to lower the engine at all.

Here are some pics. Let me know if these work and/or if you’d like to see some from a different angle.

Fitment looks great. If I get a set from ultimate headers I’d probably get catted, so you’re saying it didn’t fit until u got the engine mounts? Also which engine mounts did u get cause I’m considering them anyways with how much the car jerks on shifting in drag mode.

I actually had to have Ultimate Headers remake my headers. There were issues with the first set, but they worked all of that out and I haven’t had a single issue with fitment. Now, I did blow out the cats on them at the drag strip, that’s why I switched to the mini race mufflers. Have a look at these threads for more detailed information.

I have the Steeda adjustable motor mounts and I set them up in the drag race configuration.

Ultimate headers looks great especially with a ceramic coating from then but I am scared of getting a bad set to be honest, I’m having it installed by a shop so if the fitment I’d screwed up and I need to send it back them than the shop will have to put my texas headers back on, then send out the ultimate headers to get them fixed and then install again which would be a lot of time and money for them so I’m not sure if I will get from them.

heard great things about arh, stainless works which are good on budget but don’t have ceramic coat option, and kooks is crazy expensive so I’m not sure atm

Your best bet is to adjust how the engine sits on the motor mounts.

Texas speed have sold thousands of these header sets and hundreds of other owners have used multiple other brands - they all have differences in fitment.

If you're worried about cost and buying a new set and installation etc it's MUCH easier to just adjust how these sit to make them work.

Just my 2 Cents.

I understand. There are really three options for you to get the desired results that you’re looking for.

Option #1 (the expensive route) - The head man in charge at Ultimate is Jim Brown. You could call and speak with him directly and explain that you talked to the guy named Adrian regarding a set of headers that he bought through Summit Racing in 2020 that didn’t fit properly and they (Ultimate) had to remake the headers for him. Let him know that you wanted to confirm that any fitment issues have been worked out before you order.

Option #2 - Pull the passenger side header, cut the damaged section out, buy a piece of 309 stainless steel tubing of the same wall thickness (you can probably call Texas Speed and purchase a section of the exact tubing used to make the headers), heat it up red hot and dimple it in a vice using aluminum angle iron in the jaws of the vice to avoid any marring. Cut the excess material off of both sides and have a really experienced Tig welder weld that section back in and it will look intentionally done with quality results. You can probably get this done for a few hundred dollars.

Note: If shop that installed them caused the damage to the header, they should be willing to cover the labor to remove and reinstall the header at no Cost to you.

Option #3 - See if Texas Speed is willing to make the repair for you. If so, have the install shop pull the header, send it to Texas Speed and explain to them that you’d like the damaged section clearanced the length of the AC line and send it back to you. This should still fall within that $200-$300 price range (if that). Take the newly repaired and clearanced header back to the installer to put back on the car on their dime.

Lastly, I know this sucks and I’m speaking from experience, in having to work through my issue with Ultimate Headers, but the extra delay will be well worth it in the end once the issues are sorted out and it will be aesthetically pleasing.
