I have been a bit disappointed in my Long tube install and tune every since I got them. Had a local shop do the both. From a power standpoint, I am perfectly happy, it picked up 51 RWHP.

For starters, the headers: They’re LTH brand and hit the steering shaft on right hand turns under pretty much any sense of acceleration. While not moving, they do not come in contact at all. Kind of surprising how pretty much everything transitions with such light power input. It barely touches, but I can feel it in the steering wheel and I can see a light mark on the headers where it has touched. Anyone else with a 2020 GT and LTH headers have this issue?

Next the A10 tuning: Pretty sure my tuner had only tuned manual coyotes (used HP Tuners). I have read how happy people are after they had their A10 tuned and my experience has pretty much been the opposite. I do want to state, that under WOT, there are no issues. Shift fine and runs great. Also, no issues using the paddles.

  • All the Sport drive modes now feel like it’s in normal drive. It will skip shift and try to get to the highest gear ASAP. When stock, it would hold each gear out just a little longer like you would expect a sport mode to do. The tuner said he only change the “Sport” mode and none of the others. However, each of them (Sport, Plus, Track) all do the same thing.
  • When I took it to the strip. I could only race it in Sport mode, but still had to take the traction control off. I tried to do a burnout mode in Track, and the stability control went nuts. Had to put it back into the Sport mode. That normal? I forgot there was even a Drag mode. Would that have allowed the burnout?
  • While cruising around 60 MPH in Sport, the car will jump from 9th to 10th gear consistently. I can only assume that is something in how he programmed the transmission. Never did that when it was stock.

Pretty much looking to hear what others with A10’s and their tuned experience has been. I would consider a re-tune. Would want a Flex tune with an A10

I tried the local tuner route, your so much better off getting an etuner from one of the big mustang companies. I went with Wengerd and love it. Trans logic is great

I have no experience with headers or tune for the GT being mine is still stock. But I would like to ask you if you had to remove your A/C for the header install. I was looking at the same brand until I seen "a/c removal required" which made me hold up on the order.

A/C must be removed for the 2” headers. LTH 1 & 7/8” (like all others) Headers do not require A/C removal.

OP, Either shimmy the engine over a touch or dent the header; I would expect the install shop would be glad to fix this for a nominal fee.

And on the tune, talk with your tuner. The big-named tuners don’t have such transmission oddities.

When at the track consider pulling the plug next to the air box. It will disable all nannies. (do so at your own risk.)

Running LTH brand headers here and have no clearance issues other than they hit my Steeda GTrac brace on the passenger side so I removed the brace.

As far as I know, the AC was not removed.

No real way to dent header without removing it. I could look into possibly adding washers to the Motor mounts or something. The entire reason I choose LTH and paid to have them installed, was I really didnt want to touch this job myself.

I did talk with tuner. Pretty much, I think this was as far as he knew on how to tune the trans. From a WOT standpoint, its dialed in, it just that day to day stuff I dont think he knows how to do it.

So does anyone else with LTH headers have this issue? I wonder if its something stupid like they didn't tighten the motor mounts or something. just seems odd that I am the only one with this issue and these headers.

i know it’s been a while so i’m assuming you found a solution. I just ran into this issue with my kooks long tubes and was curious what you did to fix it?

I did not....

I took it to a shop when I had it tuned, and they ground down a bolt, or change a bolt in the steering shaft. It was gone for awhile, but then came back. I believe the only way to fix it wound be to take the header off and put a dent in it. But I just live with it now
