Yeah I don’t blame you. It’s really cool. My neighbor had a buddy over earlier this summer than has a GT500 in EG. It looks great with all the black accents.
What color is the Mach1? The other factor is the Mach1 was an A10 and I’d prefer the Tremec if I was buying a Mach1

It’s black. Non-HP with the A10. Black looks really good clean but it’s so hard to keep clean. I’ve had a few black cars and I very much have a love hate relationship with that color 🤣

Duh, I read that. Well I bought a new 2010 Black Camaro when they were released and learned a lot about detailing using a PC7424 buffer. That was before Ceramic Coating became the rage. If you keep it in the garage and Ceramic Coat it then maybe….Black looks soooooo nice on a Mustang.

To the OP, you can sell the 2023 Privately and not get too beat up depending on the purchase price. Regardless take your car to Carmax and see what they say and ask the dealer to match it. Lastly some states give a tax break by only paying the difference making the trade more appealing. Virginia gives you the shaft and no tax break on trades.

Oh, another running change they made was plastic oil pans, I believe. Plastic in an oil pan is probably great when the car is new and if you can replace it every 50k miles or so. Otherwise I sure prefer a metal oil pan.

Yes, ceramic coating is the way to go for sure. I did my car and my wife’s car myself.

Agreed on going to CarMax. Play the dealers off of each other and get the best deal you can. We get the tax benefit for trade ins here in IL.

S650 just made 40 plus rwhp over a gen 3, same day same dyno super comprehensive test!
It was actually 37. If you round it up to 40, you're inviting the inevitable, "it was 50 more!", from the demented crowd. It's a good point though. Definitely more power.

So in 2022 the rated HP went down from 460 to 450. And the 2024 is rated at 480.

30 HP +/- a few seems about right.

And IIRC the 2024 is still slightly less than 4,000 lbs.

I own a 2017 because I don't like the changes Ford made to the Mustang.

The MT-82 gearing is different 2018 plus - it's a lot tamer and you get one shift before you are speeding. The earlier PP1 cars with 3.73 gears feel crazy in first and second gear. Lots of fun around town.

The 2017 Coyote has the iron cylinder liners. Later versions have the plasma spray bores. If you prefer a disposable throw away block, then buy the later cars.

Direct injection is another significant change I don't like.

The later Coyote makes more power and has a higher redline, so there are positive changes. I got a FP tune to increase the red line and power in my car, but it still doesn't match the later Coyotes in that way.

And the S650 has a different tune based on newer emissions regulations. If you think that is good, then that would be a reason to buy one.

The GT350 definitely got some running changes that were improvements.
None of that is what I was discussing. I meant "fixes", not generational/refresh changes.

They covered the weight difference too.

The only thing I've heard of Ford "fixing" in their production, was the aluminum shift forks in the MT82.

Other than that, they never change anything.
I was replying to the statement you made saying that Ford never changes anything. They have changed quite a few things and that's why I don't own a newer Ford.

What are the problems with the 2015 you would have liked to see fixed that are still present in the 2024?

So I went to the dealership to check out the S650’s. The GT Premium sold last night so I didn’t get to see it. I sat in the base GT but couldn’t drive it because it was also sold with the new owner returning later today to pick it up.

My thoughts on the visuals. Exterior actually looks really good. To me, the front bumper tries to take cues from the Mach 1 front end but just looks ok. I love the hood and hood vent, seems to be a little more functional than ours with bigger cutouts in the hood.

The base cloth seats are extremely comfortable. The shifter (A10 car) and the center console in general feels like it sits a little higher but not terrible. Now the screens. I will say the size of them is actually not bad. The two screens with a space in the middle does not look great. My sales guy told me the Premium single screen looks a lot better and looks like it belongs in the car.

He did start the car for me and the volume and tone reminds me of the 15-17 cars though slightly louder. This is a non-active car so only a single tip on each side. Definitely not as loud as the stock 18-23 non-active cars IMO.

I also asked him thoughts as to how they drive and handle compared to our cars since I couldn’t drive it. He said he didn’t notice a big difference except the steering felt a little more similar to a Mach than a GT.

So, would I buy one? Probably not a base GT because of the screens. I won’t say yes or no to a Premium or Dark Horse without seeing them first but overall it’s a sharp looking car. Based on what I have seen and heard, I’m good with my S550. He did say a Shelby variant is coming in either 2025 or 2026 but they haven’t received any info on engine or anything yet. There are reports out there that it will be a Cobra, he said they haven’t heard anything definitive. Anyway, sorry for the long post. I’d say unless you like screens or the twin throttle bodies, keep your S550’s

If the 301A had a single screen they would sell a lot more. Dual screens are horrible.

Agreed. My salesman would agree also. He said a majority of their orders are for the premium so they can just have one screen. They have 2 Dark Horses coming also, both are custom orders. One backed out so it will be available.

It won't stay locked long. Too much money in tuning mustangs. Several companies will put a team of hackers on it.
It took the C8 about 3 years, and an additional $2K for the process. Supra guys send their ECUs to Finland for a Russian hacker to unlock it for $3K. I wonder how it will go for the S650.🍿

S550s don’t have any of these issues. 😁👍
