Back in March when ordering opened up, i placed an order for a 24 GT, then later in May i read about all the issues Ford was having building the S650's so when ahead and bought a 23 GT off the lot, one of the last they had left. Got an email from Ford saying the 24 i had ordered was built, kinda tempting to look into getting the 24, but after more thought I think the smart move is to keep my 23 and wait a couple more years for Ford to get any issues fixed on the new S650's, plus i would still have to pay a few thousand trade difference probably. anyone else have plans on trading for the S650 in the future? & still not a big fan of those screens, will have to get used to them someday in the future i guess lol.

What did Ford "fix" on the 18-23s???? Or the 15-17s? Or previous Mustangs?

The only thing I've heard of Ford "fixing" in their production, was the aluminum shift forks in the MT82.

Other than that, they never change anything. They don't do yearly fixes or running production changes to fix issues.

one thing i noticed between the 20 GT i had compared to the 23 GT is panels by rear bumper fit flush on the 23 as the 20 did not and doors on 23 shut more solid sounding also. they probably do adjust things year to year on production line and get more practiced building them

Yeah the doors on my 21 do NOT sound like the doors on my 2016 Mercedes C300, or even my C43.

That was one of the only gripes I had about my 21 GT Premium

I live about 2 miles from Flat Rock, saw 10 or so driving down the road last week, and about an hour ago saw one in a driveway in the next subdivision over.

That back trunk lid side 'V' shape really gives it away from the rear, as do the smaller headlights coming from the front.

That's all minor, at best.

No, Ford doesn't make any real changes. Their lines might put them together better one day or another, but that's not Ford making real changes.

Plus, the S650 is not a new car. It's a re-styled S550, nothing more.

So to answer the OP's question; no, there's no reason to wait or hesitate.

Ford did a lot of second and third and fourth year changes on the s550. We saw it in the interior options from 17 to 18 in the GT and 18 to 19 in the GT350s. Accent stitching upgrades, dash options, door panels. Maybe not so much "fixed", but definitely better. The Navi egg on the roof changed to a fin, the "My Color 12" dash appeared in 2018. So, to the OP's point, yes, the S650 may sort itself out some in 2026 and beyond.

yeah not sure if like the looks of the S650 as much yet, will be able to tell more when see one in person. the front does not look as sporty or sleek as the S550 does in photos or videos. and not sure why they went to a manual seat on the base GT now, my base S550 GT has power seats. cutting costs i guess.

None of that is what the OP is asking about. The 2018s weren't "sorted" compared to the 15-17 cars, they were updated. Adding options is not what the OP is concerned about.

The OP is asking about issues get fixed, and Ford basically doesn't do that.

But it's also fair to say that the S550 has basically had 0 issues, other than the MT82 aluminum shift forks.

Having bought the first model year of the 6th gen Bronco, I'd say get ready for lots of recalls with the S650 for the first couple of years.
that is what i was thinking may happen also, will have to wait and see

A local dealer has several. I went and test drove one. I could get used to the outside looks but I cannot stand the dash. The Ipod I will never like. I do not like navigating screens to activate things and it just looks like an after thought the way they stuck it to the dash. I also do not like the Cameroish dash styling and the low mounted A/C vents.

So S650 is a hard no for me. If I need something new again it will be a gas powered F150.

I've had no issues with my MT82 and I don't baby my car at ALL.
I suspect most of the MT82 complaints come down to people having no mechanical sympathy.

as for waiting on the 650... i'd scoop up a 550 because they're prettier. I do wonder if they started using the same M1 and GT350 subframe across the line to address the myriad of issues the base unit has.

Are you off your meds? Or are you the OP's spokesman? If so, he might need a new publicist. Your personality disorder is starting to rear its not so attractive head. Please refrain from addressing my replies to someone else's question. Especially if you're going to trounce it.... F A H

I decided not purchase the new S650 just due to the fact it will be a long time before there will be able to figure out how Ford has locked ecu from any kind of tuning. Seem Ford has gone total encrypted syle block on this model.

just bought S550 so I can and boost and tune!
