I won't forget but I am curious if that little can will fill before a normal oil change cycle.
i doubt it will be filled to the top , but you never know , on my camaro which was DI it would be maybe 25% or a little less every time i changed the oil which was about 4k

It sounds like it will, probably one of the main reasons Ford won't put one on from the factory.
Probably the reason is the average user wouldn't ever check it...I'm getting one because it's one of those better safe than sorry type things :D

Yeah, because the average ignorant owner probably will never go under the hood.....

In my first 2,000 miles of pretty hard driving the JLT collected about 1/8" of oil in the bottom of the can. Unless you go 30k miles between oil changes you should have no problems.

you really shouldnt wait that long to empty it out. if you do it every oil change you dont have to worry
I know It needs to be checked/drained...My question is, will it damage anything if it gets full?

Well, if it fills up, the same thing will happen that would happen if you didn't have it there to begin with. The oil will no longer get trapped in the can and will progress into the intake manifold. Although perhaps in larger quantities, esp, if you're turning right.

It's not going to hurt things, oil will burn out, but it'll likely carbon things up pretty quickly at that point because you'll get larger bursts of oil at one time.

My concern is if for some strange reason it would fill up faster than one would expect, does the filled canister cause it to clog because of the design of internal trap for oil?

I saw a canister somewhere () that was bigger to hold more oil, can't find it at the moment. But because it was much bigger made me wonder why?

Pretty sure there would be enough pressure in there to just push a glob (technical term) of oil through the line into the intake manifold if it came to that. Esp. when warm.

I'd be concerned if the canister were any larger IF it wasn't fastened down with it's own bracket. The JLT is just hanging there, but it's not pulling much on the tubes when empty. Although I'd imagine full, it would probably fatigue the tubes over time. Fortunately, it only takes a second to check and drain.

Why don't they add a line to trap oil back to where it should be? Maybe oil pan?

Im so on the fence about getting this.
It seems obvious that some oil gets by.

I cant believe that Ford doesnt know about this, and if it was a problem, they would have had a fix for it.

My assumption is that it isnt an issue that causes a big problem in the engine.
But then, there is oil in the can.

What to do?!??!?!?!?!

I may just get one at the end, so that I can say, better safe than sorry for a small amount.
