What are everyones thoughts on this? Is this something needed or is it designed for the paranoid?

Thanks or your input.

I was asking about it for a GT. I traded in my EB for a GT.

You don't need it.

but it doesn't hurt. I remember removing plenums and intakes over the years and seeing the insides coated with sticky black tar from the crankcase stuff getting blown back into the intake to re-burn. Trust me...its not a BAD thing to stop some of that. Do you NEED it? NO but its not a bad idea either. Best case scenario would be to keep ALL of that junk from going back into your intake but eliminating even 40% or so can make a difference. Sup to you....

Not necessary. Unless you drag or track then I'd probably invest in one.

By 3000 miles mine had trapped about a tablespoon or more of oil, which I am glad did not go into my intake.

As mentioned in here already it's one of those things that can't hurt to do.

It keeps the oil out of your combustion chambers, and will help with keeping oil buildup off your intake manifold, back side of valves etc. By keeping oil out of the combustion chambers it will help ensure the fuel does not get effected by the oil and effect it's burn rate causing detonation.

Will you see an immediate different in your car at low mileage vs a car that doesn't have one at low mileage? Probably not much, but long term it would be very noticeable.

That's just the oil that didn't get past the device and what does get by will wash from your valves as the fuel passes into the combustion chamber. Overall it may cause for less grime to be removed from the intake system during a tb cleaning. So go for it:eyebulge:

I have one on my car and got it as soon as I got my car. I have seen some oil in the catch can at times. I do empty it anytime I am playing in the engine bay area. It hasn't been a lot of oil but these motors do pass some oil along.

I bought mine before the car was even delivered and installed it on my way home from the dealership. Emptied it twice so far, the less oil coating the intake track the better
