I was blown away yesterday when I looked at it after 150 miles. Filled the whole bottom of the separator. I wasn't expecting hardly anything and when I opened it up and I immediately wished I had put it on 600 miles ago.

Just placed an order for one, will be the first thing I put on my car when I get it.

Any value to getting the driver's side one as well?

Had mine (bought from AM) installed by the dealer (for free) while doing my sale paperwork. I don't want a gooey intake system!

Ok then where is all this oil ur catching going, I assume this is part of the pvc system.
*PCV

The oil goes into the intake and is burned by the engine with the fuel. Most of it is burned, so it's not like you are going to find that same amount of oil sitting in your intake if you take it off. But over time, an oily film will start coating the intake.

I have one on order as well. :)

I know someone probably has asked this in the past, but how hard would it be to have a setup so it drains back into the pan?

Pressure is what's pushing it out of the pan (crankcase), can't be pushed back into it. To drain just take the oil filler cap off and dump it in

Not entirely correct. You could modify the bottom of your catch can with some kind of pressure check valve and when the car is off you could have it drain back into the oil cap or drain pan. I just don't know if there's a valve that is light enough where that little bit of oil will actually flow down through the valve.

Anyhow I'm sure it can be done, but it would require someone that is willing to put in the time, money and effort to get it done right.

How long does it take pressure inside the engine to die down to 0 after the engine shuts off?

As for the need of an oil separator, sure it does it's "job" but I don't know if it's really making any kind of difference in the performance of your engine. Is there any real data supporting the benefits of a catch can on an NA system. And I'm not just talking about seeing oil in your can. We already know it's gonna catch oil. But it doesn't mean it's really benefiting your engine any. Sure we all want a "clean" engine, but if the slime isn't hurting anything, you're fixing something that isn't broken. I know in extreme cases the oil can cause a reduction in octane and might cause you to pull timing. But has there been any of that in stock/bolt on mod NA form?

Exactly what I was thinking, i cant see ford leaving something like this that would hurt the motor. No blower or turbo i could see it then since that u have to do away with the pcv valve.I meant to say now blower or turbo.

Oil seperator/catch cans

Somebody please explain! I get the fact that we want to catch that oil from being included in the air fuel mixture. I had one on my 2009 Challenger SRT8,
It diffidently paid dividends. I'd frenqently collect 4-6 table spoon full after a week of hard driving. The hemi's seem to have more blow by.

My question is this...why only install on the passenger side of the motor? Doesn't leave the driverside bank open for the damage cause by this unwanted oil?
