Mine whines, only noticeable when against a wall like in a drive thru with the windows down. My 18 f150 whined for 100k miles. I'm used to it now.

mine did whine, more so when cold. Until I checked the fluid and was a quart low from factory. Much better now sound and shifting.

My sounded damn near exactly like a supercharger whine until my most recent service at Ford. It wasn't in for anything related to the transmission, but the tech must have noticed it was low during the test drive. Since I picked it up it has shifted 100% better and the whine is now almost completely gone. I can only assume it was either low on fluid or the tech updated something in the control modules. Either way its now gone or 99% diminished.

Prior to this service it was loud enough at low speeds (less than 30mph) that you could hear it coming down the street from 60yds away. I had several neighbors ask about the supercharger.
Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it. Your reply is EXACTLY like my situation and sounded like I had written it myself! Ford has a problem that they are hiding. Thanks, again!!!!

Thanks for your response!

Would you say that the whining from the GT is low, moderate or loud? Mine sounds like a supercharger, which I actually do not like! Annoying as heck!

Thanks!
I would say low/moderate. It doesn't really bother me to be honest but everyone has their own opinion on this. The only time It was noticeably loud was when I drove the car from Stockton to Los Angeles when I went to pick it up. Stopped about two and a half hours in for gas and when I turned the car on it sounded like it had a supercharger, thought it was kind of cool in my opinion. Maybe longer drives/pushing the car equals more whine? Might be taking the car to Angelest Crest this weekend, I'll see if I can hear any noticeable differences from start to finish.

I was really surprised when I picked up my car. The sound is still there to some extent but it's much, much quieter now. However, the feeling while driving is 100% different. It so much different now after whatever they changed that I would have argued they gave me back a different car. To say its night and day different is an understatement.

Wow! Thanks for your response. Interesting/weird thing about those 10R80 transmissions. Glad to hear that your Stang is in better shape!

Anyone use Lucas Ford in Burlington, NJ for service? I have the whine but trans shifts perfectly. I want to check the level just to see if it’s low on fluid but I don’t have ramps or jack stands to check the level myself so I’m thinking have dealer do it.

Hi,
My 2022 GT has the annoying whine. I just bought it and it’s driving me crazy. It seems to do it more under 30 mph. Is this how it’s going to be? It’s almost an embarrassing sound. Is it really normal?

It is freakin' embarassing! It's funny that you say that, because that is how I've felt!
