10 Speed Automatic Transmission for 2016

A ten speed trans is better than a 6 speed trans if its shifts are significantly faster than the current auto. If this 10 speed trans is as slow as the current auto, this would be a nightmare. I'd note that Ford has not been all that successful in their dual-clutch systems thus far (fiesta & focus) and that the 6R80 is bulletproof. More is not always better.

6R80 was introduced like 10 years ago ? Would assume a brand new transmission will have its advantages over the old system. Quicker, smoother, faster more dynamic and more fuel efficient.

Else whats the point ?

Exactly the point, just like the new improved EB 2.3 I4 would be a better alternative to the older 3.7 ltr. V6. Faster, smoother, significantly more fuel efficient, etc, right? I guess if getting a "noise enhancement chip" and using the recommended Premium Gasoline is a (plus), that would be the correct assumption too.
