Yep, it's the exact opposite. At 0% I want to pay you back as slowly as possible and keep my money somewhere else earning interest.

I think h e s saying that they won t take as much off the car price at 0% interest.

I dont follow. If your sales price is 50k. And you have a choice of 0% for 36 months, how exactly are you coming out ahead paying 4% interest on 50k for even 1 month, let alone 6?

I believe he means the interest is somehow baked into the price if the car. When I bought my 19’ I made my deal on the car and then let the dealer know I was financing it. I got a good deal on the car and 0% interest.

Thats why you always negotiate price prior to any discussions about financing or trades if you have one. No need to play that shell game.

I agree but then wonder if they don t hit you with THEIR worse case senario price assuming you may pay cash??? Hard to beat the house , LOL.

Right. If you are financing line it up ahead. No reason to mention that you wont be financing with them. Get your price then decline the financing.

Even with zero percent financing the dealer gets something from Ford Financial out of the deal.

Ourisman Ford of Manassas has leftover 22s right now for 0% and $4000-$6000 off depending on the car

that's where I got my ecoboost for 23k lol, and I saw one the other day but it got sold couple hrs earlier. But I just signed for a new 22 gt still in shipment so excited

0% is the new "come get this shit off our lot" incentive. Given the state of the economy it makes sense that it's coming back in force. It's interesting too, because in theory the OEM's should lose money doing it. But as the wise member above said, its probably baked into the price of the car. MSRP's have jumped through the roof recently afterall....

It's smart though. Much easier to get people to buy your 40-50K vehicle at 0% than 6.99%...

trust me , check with carmax on your trade. I never trusted or liked that type of car buying but I sold them a 2020 Toyota and they paid very very well. Their online appraisal was dead on.

Just keep in mind that there can be a sales tax advantage to trading it in on your new car. It might negate any additional dollars you get from Carmax. Do the math before selling.
