How this thread ended in my feed? 😂

Hilarious. Couple years back I had the neighbor with a white 18’ GT350R, who confessed to me a big reason he got the car was hoping that it would value as high as a MKIV Supra. I wished him good luck.

Yet I thought to myself, to be like an MKIV Supra, 1) it has to have a reputation of being reliable 2) it has to be culturally iconic (movie, song, etc), 3) it has to be semi-rare at least. Well, the GT350 has 1 of 3 checked off. I wonder what happened to that guy, nice guy.

C7 at the time. It was at TWS before it closed. I did not hear what the failure was but it was a common problem on early cars. They are generally reliable but It happens

If my math is correct here, 1 engine failure anecdote posted in an Internet forum=55 “I personally know a guy who…” statements.

Whatever happened to the last “my voodoo engine blew up” thread where the guy’s engine didn’t actually blow up?

Also, why don’t the engine failure experts ever discuss failure mode? What relevance does the secondary vibration issue have on the primary failure mode in the gen1 voodoos which was oil consumption?

Interesting. Yeah, some of the early C7’s suffered from overheating on track issues, which led to it going into limp mode. Mines a ‘18, which is after they solved the problem with additional cooling. Different animal all together, but great car.

Why does everything have to turn into an engine or value thread….
Maybe because a select few GT owners LOVE to bash the GT350... I don't get it.

I don't bash the Ford GT owners or the GT500 owners; both of whom have superior performing cars compared to my GT350.

Sorry... I should have said, "... my unreliable GT350."

This thread has turned quite entertaining... Thanks Doc...!!!

Once upon a time, there was a man named Jack who was a car enthusiast. He had always dreamed of owning the best car ever made, and in 2019, he finally achieved his dream when he purchased a brand new Shelby GT350.

The Shelby GT350 was the epitome of high-performance sports cars, with a powerful 5.2-liter V8 engine, advanced suspension, and aerodynamic design. Jack loved the car and took care of it like it was his own child.

One day, Jack saw an advertisement for a local car race and decided to participate with his Shelby GT350. The race was filled with some of the most impressive and expensive sports cars from all over the world, but Jack was confident that his Shelby GT350 would come out on top.

The race was intense, with the sound of high-performance engines filling the air and the smell of burning rubber lingering in the air. Jack was pushing his Shelby GT350 to the limit, taking turns with precision and accelerating down straightaways at top speed.

The other racers were no match for the Shelby GT350, and it quickly pulled ahead of the pack. With each lap, Jack's confidence grew, and he knew that he was driving the best car ever made.

As the checkered flag waved, Jack crossed the finish line first, beating all of the other competitors. The crowd erupted in applause, and Jack was declared the winner of the race.

From that day forward, Jack was known as the owner of the best car ever made, and he continued to race his Shelby GT350, winning race after race. The Shelby GT350 became a legend in the racing world, and Jack was proud to be its one and only owner.
Until the 2020-2022 GT500 kicked sand in its face😞

The gt350 is a really nice car, but best ever?? I have a 19 gt and after I got just a e85 tune I was beating the gt350. Now that I have a centri it’s not even close. Stock for stock the gt350 is faster but not by much. Plus is cost an easy 30-40k more than mine. I guess the extra money is due to being a Shelby. I’ve even heard that the engine it comes with is a flat plane crank and it doesn’t handle boost very well. I personally think the coyote is one of the best engines that Ford has ever built.
