Spring Cypress & Grant here, had no idea there were so many people from Cypress on here:rockon:
Awesome man, I would love to see the Shelby sometime! If you don't already follow them please check out Speed Advocates on facebook or IG. It's a really great group of people and cars, there are two meets per month just a few miles away at Rudy's BBQ on 249.
We live about 3 min from that Rudys, just moved actually. Now that we are settled, I was going to try and show up to a few with my son again. I used to attend a lot of them, but a leaving a wife with two kids in Katy when I spend 2 weekends at the track a month was probably too much to ask lol. If I see your car I'll say hi.
I'm picking up my 23 Ford Mustang in January at Bill Fick Ford. Would be cool to have a meet up.

I'm actually not local. I went to school down there back in 2017 and was part of a big Mustang group called Wild Side Stangs. I believe they are still relatively large. I was able to get dealer invoice down there, so I am flying down to pick up the car, modify it a bit, see/meet a few people, and enjoy Galveston Texas, and then drive home (St. Louis Missouri).

Well, it's tastefully done. Nothing crazy, yet th design lines of the S550 are accentuated beautifully. The centerpiece is that hood. Phew. šŸ”„

I thought I was old but you must be really old if that's surprising or funny to you. What you don't realize is that these 'car accounts' like mine earn money directly from the social media platforms and get free stuff from sponsors, hence the reason for starting the TikTok account after having success with the IG account. Guess I get the last laugh
It's cool that Ford has posted on your SM pages.

I'd like to know more about what you have mentioned in your above quote. My interpretation of users benefitting from SM accounts as far as being "influencers" or even getting any income is that they have to constantly produce new material.

I'd certainly like to know more from someone like yourself who has already "been there done that" and can give honest info to the inner workings and expectations.

I don't know the exact requirements or criteria, but once I reached a certain number of followers on IG (10K maybe), some point after I received an automated message inviting me to monetize my account by creating reels. You are basically paid by the number of views your reels get in 30 day cycles, but I don't 'have' to post anything if I choose not to. So its basically get paid as you play. The kicker is that while its in your best interest to post quality videos, ultimately the platform paying you are the ones also controlling how many views your videos get. If only I had a key to unlock that almighty algorithm. It is by no means a huge money maker for me, but it has provided some extra income that I wasn't exactly expecting.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I've done a lot with it and I never knock anyone else's car, but keeping mine unique yet tasteful has always been at the forefront for me.

Maybe I'm showing off just a bit, but I thought it was pretty cool that Ford complimented our 2020 Mustang on a recent social media post. I've had an Instagram account highlighting our car for about two years and my kids convinced me to start a TIkTok account earlier this year. I made a post recently where I videoed my wife driving the car and it got way more attention than I ever imagined. Low and behold next thing I know Ford Motor Co (whoever holds the keys to their social media presence anyway) commented with a compliment of the car. So anyway just want to share with everyone, yes it was a proud moment ;)

What’s your IG? I’m not super active but always looking for good car folks/groups to follow

Thanks for the reply and info. I'm not a SM user at all, no FB, no IG or any other similar accounts - stick to forums where IMO, the best tech is located and the ability to reference that tech now or in the future. I have hit on FB or IG links, but I can't stand the fact that if someone does not have a FB or IG account, they get kicked off from viewing and are forced into having to create an account if they want to continue to view that content. IMO, if it's "public" content, then the public should not be bumped off from viewing if they don't have an account with XYZ platform.

What rims are on your S550, are those RTR? I think aside from the hood, the rims make it stand out as well as the lighting if that pic the day it was captured, because the sunlight is making the metallic flake "pop" in that image.

Great S550 and thanks for sharing your S550 and the enthusiasm of Ford commenting about your ride!

I get it, I rarely use FB anymore, mainly only when my wife tags me on post about our kids. Before getting this car I had an IG account but rarely used it either. When I started seeing interesting Mustang and other car accounts on IG as I was starting to customize this car, I thought it was neat to share what I was doing and keep watching what others were doing. I never dreamed I would have a TikTok account, but the success of the IG account and some influence from my kids convinced me to start one, and next thing I know Ford is complimenting my Mustang, pretty cool.

The wheels are from a company called Curva Concepts, the model is C300 gunmetal.

You are 100% right, the sunlight makes the metallic flake in the Kona blue paint really pop, its
amazing.

Thanks for the compliments, our S550 has been very fun to drive, customize and share with others.

I’d love to check out your car sometime also! Just gave you a follow on IG. Beautiful ride.

I followed Speed Advocates also. I’m not on FB much or post on IG, but I’ll stay on it for updates!
