Received my new hood louvers from Sam Galloway Ford today and naturally had to install them right away. Going with the Gloss over

Matte was definitely the right choice.
Looks great, gloss black was definitely the right choice. I have them as well

Installed new air filter and have a question about the top fitment.

New filter:

Old filter. Definitely needed changing:

But a question about the fitment of the air box top. Been a while since I changed the filter and don't recall this but maybe just didn't much care?

Here are pictures of the side and rear latches:

On the side (top photo), the lid is resting on that notch and latch is easy to set. On the rear the lid is barely in the notch and it takes a lot more effort to latch it. On and off a few times and can't find any obstructions. Doesn't matter which latch I set first.

Is this just a case of manufacture tolerances for the lid or box? How does this compare to your factory air box?

And all this got me curious about the below pic. Looking down on the inside rear of the air box lid, top of photo towards center of car. What is that projection on the side of the box?

Yes - these were definitely flying off the shelf!
I was really tempted to order your X pipe too just to have on hand and maybe switch out from time to time 😁

Well yesterday, took another random drive. It was nice with beautiful weather.

I don't usually like to do so much street driving on my tires with how soft they are and my alignment settings but with how crazy things are and all the recent bad news/losses in my circle, F it and YOLO lol.

Installed new Renegade Smoked Euro tail lights. Couldn’t beat the Black Friday deal from @CJ Pony. I’m liking the look! (Besides, it was a good excuse to pull back the cover a bit 😂)

That actually looks pretty darn good! lol

I wonder what does it look like when the brake pedal depressed?

They pop a pretty bright red. I think they’re a tad bit brighter that the stock lights.

CJ has a good video that shows them side by side:

Love the look! How hard was the installation and removal of the original? Is it all double sided tape?

Wasn’t really hard at all. Hardest part was attempting to put the hoof insulation back up by myself. Once I had the wife hold one side up, it went easy. The OEM louvers have 4 nuts that come off and they pull right out. No 3M tape on them at all. The new louvers only have two studs needing washers and nuts (provided in pkg) and 3M tape all the way around. Took me 90 minutes. 30 of that was fighting the hood insulation.
