I was hanging out at my Dads house in the early 2000's, my Dad had just bought a Z4 and I guess came inside to read the manual since it had so many features. A while later he's screaming to see which one of us kids (I was an adult) F'd with his car... He forget to set the parking brake, somehow the car got enough momentum from the semi-flat driveway to roll up a few feet of uphill slope, then a few hundred feet down a hill through scrub oak and into his newly installed fishing pond. He ended up getting a body kit which insurance installed and painted for "free".

That situation always sits in my mind, to the point I will wake up and run downstairs to check my parking brake sometimes, it's happened to me for almost 20 years regardless of which manual car I've owned.

That's a bummer. I did that once but was on a an almost level street, came back to find the car gone because it got towed after rolling into the middle of the street. I usually park with the car in gear and the ebrake pulled tight, but that night I somehow forgot to do either before leaving it.

It hurts that much more knowing it was on you. I feel for you, brother. Mistakes are the human condition.

Collision is what the insurance adjuster told me. I don’t know if that’s right or not, but that’s what it is going on.
It sucks, but it's not surprising. Comprehensive is typically for things that happen outside of your control, like a tree falling on your car.

Yup! We've all been there with some sort of dumbass mistake ... and if someone hasn't yet, well that just means they haven't lived long enough (or just hasn't "lived" enough).

No one was hurt, everything else can be fixed.

My spidey sense says the damage, physics and orientation don’t neatly add up but we don’t have all the pics of the area to get the whole narrative. That’s a lot of damage for the (unknown but assumed to be less than 30 mph) speed it was going, and dead center always raises eyebrows, But why would someone do this purposely when they can easily sell it for more $ than a damage/repair car would go for? Let’s give OP a break, this is a tough situation for him.
Alcohol maybe?

I had a bit of a brain fart a couple weeks ago that ended badly for my GT350. Left the car in neutral in the garage and ran back in the house to grab the key. The following photos were the result of my negligence. I will post more once I get the quote from the repair shop. Definitely have to sell her once she’s fixed, so I will be sure to post her number once I get a look at her again. 🤦‍♂️

If a tree hits your car, that's comprehensive, if the car hits a tree, that's collision

Adjuster is correct.
