Cost to augment the water supply with desalination, i surmise, would be a mere fraction of the damage that was incurred and could have been paid for over time. Not having a better plan to utilize natural resources, process, store and logistically distribute appropriately and without consideration of the obvious potential risk, simply amounts to gross mismanagement.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and all the devastation...these fires are terrible but we will rebuild...

I'm pretty sure that was you I saw on PCH a couple months ago...gave me a wave, near the Palisades area. We've never met, but please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Kenneth Fire was about a mile away from me...thankfully the winds blew the other direction.

Mismanagement. It’s a great word. When completely understood it applies to the people who were in the position to manage.

Unfortunately there have not been any qualified people in those positions in that state for quite some time.

There's been an ongoing argument between Southern and Norther California about water for at least 50 years. Simply put, Northern Californians do not like Southern Californians and we do not want to share our water. It's already bad enough that ALL Californians will be getting an insurance rate increase to pay for the idiotic mismanagement of the Los Angeles area. Interestingly enough, conversations about EVERYONE chipping in to help the few never happened when the Chico fire happened, the Paradise fire, the Caldor Fire, Etc.

This state is grossly mismanaged by Newsom. I live under the flight path from where the planes pick up their retardant. When the Caldor fire happened, it took 7 days before i heard a single plane fly over. The fire burned 221k acres.
