Let's see, I'm taking to install before we leave Iowa the FP Oil Separator, and we are stopping to have my PS4S tires installed.

I have the following piled up in my den: Jacking rails, x-pipe, OE clear tail-lights, White Madness shifter and Green ball knob, FP Air Filter. As soon as I know the car is at the dealer, I'm ordering a Cervini's GT500 hood and maybe later, aluminum rear louvers.

I already have a second set of HP wheels that are going for powder coating in bronze, along with the shock tower brace. That's probably it. The plan was to get it where I want it ASAP, then just drive.
That is going to be awesome! Bronze will look amazing on the Green! Rear lovers with the GT500 hood too! I'll have to check out the White Madness Shifter

Good old days when a car may have fed spec smog specs while CA is stricter. I believe still going on but I can’t think of a manufacturer that makes differently for CA (and states that follow CA regs) vs fed regs. Maybe I am wrong. Anyone knows of a new car that has different smog specs (Ca vs Fed) currently?
I found this “answer”…
as of 2005, new cars fall into a special class of exemption. This exemption allows owners of fairly new cars to only pay a fee every year, which goes to a smog abatement fund. This fund is collected by the state, according to the regulation, to oversee, maintain, conduct and enforce the emissions program throughout the state. This fee is an alternative to testing. If your car falls into one of the model years that is six years from the current year or newer; you can take this substitute to test.

Why does a new car even need a Smog test?
It's Commie-fornia. You had to ask? Even the window sticker says "50 state emission compliant".
The state motto should be "you WILL submit" (in a german accent)

That is if you bought the new car in CA from a CA dealer. No smog test is needed. But if you buy a new car from a dealer in another state, CA always require you to smog test the car before registration and title. Plus the CA DMV needs to verify that note under the hood that says 50 states or CA certified

I'm leaning towards painting the hood vents and louvers Magnetic to match the mirrors, and doing some cut and paste on a new Mach1 hood decal to merge the look Mach1/GT500.

They are afraid it got modified between where you buy it and CA. I guess they think it's harder to find tuners and stuff once you get to the People's Republic of CA, doesn't make much sense for a brand new car, 25+ years of one party rule, I guess.

They are verify VIN numbers to make sure it is the car your paperwork says it is, not stolen, etc.

Curious, how much do they charge for this new car smog test? Do they waive the fee for new cars?
Got it done last night on the 2004 I'm selling, and it was $68.

So true. When I took the M1 to smog test, the tech used mirrors to check under the car to make sure there were no modifications. You can’t fudge anymore even if you bought a used car (specially the catalytic converter - it must have CA CARB approval number). That is the main question I ask at BaT whenever I see a used car for sale with modified cats

If you are doing PPF have the mirrors done in gloss, it really makes the magnetic color stand out.

Don't want any of the Magnetic parts to stand out. I'd rather the mirrors were semi-gloss black or body color, but I'm not going to paint the mirrors. I figure it would look best if all the accesories were all the same.

Then if you have them coated use the matte PPF. Either way, your EG is going to look good, glad you are on the final stages.

They look great with matte PPF, I have it on mirrors, lip spoiler and on the front ducts frames that are all matte magnetic. It goes great with matte wheels and stripe.
