Mustang ecoboost or gt

Hi guys,

I'm bit confused on which one should I get. Which one do you think is a good deal any why? should I wait few months so that the prices cool down or these are well priced? I have the following options:

It really comes down to what your needs are and what's most important to you here. They're all right in the same price range, so let's ignore the upfront cost of the car for this. Obviously, if you're on this forum you know there are plenty here that will tell you it's V8 or nothing. But, if you're posing the question, I assume the sound of the V8 may not be quite as important to you? (That's totally fine btw, don't let anyone tell you differently.) Assuming that's the case, how do you plan to use this car? Daily driver? Weekend warrior? If it's a weekend warrior, maybe lean toward waiting a bit for prices to come down. If it's a daily driver, your trade-in (assuming you have one) will also be inflated, so that'll make waiting less necessary. The gas mileage will be a bit better in the ecoboost, insurance rates will most likely be too. Maintenance costs are probably a wash, as neither motor has really been known to be problematic for the S550. Both will be fun to drive and both will look good while doing it. So I think it really comes down to: do you want the V8 rumble? Do you want cheaper ongoing costs? Do you want more options? Do any of these check all of your boxes? With a list like that, I'm guessing not, so what's missing and would patience prevail and allow you to find what you really want later?

#1 or #3. I have a 2022 Rapid Red Ecoboost Convertible with active exhaust just built and on the way. Will be my summer car and driven a lot, so I decided the Ecoboost would serve me best. Plenty of power when needed and good gas mileage routinely.

If that’s even a real question in your mind I’d say you’re definitely a prospect for the EB.

out of those 3 the gray is the nicest example but they all are priced too high. the 2018 blue is the best car but has a damaged front bumper.

if you can wait a few months. the used market is going in the dumpster in a quarter or two.

For me its V8 only 100%. In my mind the mustang is only relevant because of the V8.


But if someone is even considering getting a ecoboost I would highly suggest getting the ecoboost. Its cheaper, better on gas and it looks the same as a GT. The V8 is not something people should think about getting.

Do you prefer power + a great sounding car or gas mileage savings + a fart sounding car. Not that it's bad, I also am a fan of Hondas & other imports, just always seems weird to me looking at a mustang coming down the road making the sound of a Ricer. But it's your choice when it comes down to it. Also every one of those is over priced.

I'll be using it as a daily driver(it's doing to be my first car... no trade in). how much difference am I looking at the gas mileage? I can wait a bit longer but generally what prices can I expect for the same mustangs (premium models with 201A/401A package etc) by the end of year? Is the 10speed that better than the 6speed auto? what are some things that makes the 18+ better than the 2015-2017?
