50* at the start and 80’s at the 1/4. That was only with 2-3 scoops of ice. If filled it will keep it in the 40-50* range. For comparison the stage 2 a2w as 180+ in the 1/8 mile.
That air to water seems to be the fucking answer. @Toy Cobra could you say roughly what IATs were at the line and at the end of the 1/4?

Alright, here's the update. Both headers are in.

This is how you have to do the passenger side:
  • Loosen the ac compressor, all three bolts until one or two turns are left to create room for header to slide over top forward stud
  • Remove both motor mount brackets, not the mounts themselves but the connection brackets, and tension the engine toward the driver side
  • Remove all studs except for the two for the forward-most cylinder, replace all studs after sliding on header
  • Floor jack needs to come in from the driver side if you're doing it on the shop floor
  • Construct a wooden "block" out of some 2x4 and wood screws that fits in the groove of the jack head and has a small second piece to keep the main 2x4 from flipping sideways while lifted
  • Don't lift the engine as far as you think you may need to
  • Do not remove the battery or battery box, I did no work from up top, instead tightened the bolt above the ac lines from the wheel well with long extensions
Some pics of what I am talking about:

Installing headers on stands doesn’t sound very fun. Welding in such a small space…

I switched to Stainless Power 2" primary headers and didn't have a problem. Sometimes it's all about the design and quality.

Unfortunately I don't. You if you have access to an engine hoist, that works too.

I may pick one up from harbor freight .. but I really like your idea of the wood for lifting support. I still a couple months before we get some warmer weather here in Michigan before I attempt it.
