Stop buying boostane and get water/meth. Boostane is ok here and there but if you are using it a lot just get a water/meth kit. You get to use 91 so you don’t have to worry about finding a station with special fuel like with e85. You get all the knock protection of e85 plus some benefits e85 doesn’t have. It’s not hard on your fuel system but easier because it is adding fuel so your fuel system doesn’t have to work as hard. You only inject water/meth when you are at a set boost/rpm so you are not using it anymore then you need you can set whatever it turns on/off so it last a lot longer than boostane. It can make 91 octane into 110+ and cool incoming air
Got water/meth too but still run boostane. Don't want to have a bad day if my meth pump has an issue.

The AirLift install is super easy to do and I even used aluminum tubing. There are wholes in the body that are perfect. behind the front Inner fender wells there is a grommet on both sides.
if you have questions just ask
Appreciate that sir! it looked pretty easy when researching the kits. My biggest issue is that with four kids it's a steal a couple hours in the garage this night, afternoon this weekend etc. I'll def reach out for questions, thanks!

Great to hear. I can't wait to see how the install was, and drivability, power gains on pump etc. Your cams, intake, Exhaust should really increase airflow due to less restriction in and out of engine. Keep us posted.

Yeah, I'm pretty pumped about it. I started contemplating a fully built motor and a kit with more potential, but if I'm honest with myself it's a fun street car that I won't be running at the track much, if at all and anywhere from 700-900hp is stupid fast on these. It's easy to get carried away with numbers and thinking you need to have an 8 second car etc etc. but I'm a big believer in design for the 90% of the time, not the 10.

The CJ and cams I know some look at as not needed and not enough return on the investment, but I figured I'm going to make this the best version of this type of build it can be. I'm betting it will add to it enough to notice.

I agree. I have a 2019 GT Premium PP1 and I have the same point of view. I love power, but realistically, I want to enjoy driving it on the street without the associated risk or reduction in drivability with a built engine, transmission. Good luck, keep us posted. PS. What city do you live in,?.
Thanks

I would love to add a airlift system to be able to raise when driving over curbs speed bumps etc. But I have the Magnetite system and I haven't found a airlift I could add just for those times I need to raise.

That's honestly why I bought it. For a quarter of the price I'd have just done nice springs/shocks etc and been happy with the ride and look of a drop, but I love the ability to raise up over the bad spots. I live in Southern Ct and our roads are perfect in spots and minefields in others lol.

18 degrees was the max timing allowed on the 105 pulley. The car was not adding anymore timing so we left it there.
That was with the stock fuel pump and bap? What size injectors? Did you test it at actual E54 or just calculated it was that content? Do you know what wot lambda it's commanding?

My opinion , I would sell or swap CJ with someone for ported stock 18 manifold and have some boot to go with it. Power difference isn't there with a charger like N/A. Plus it would be pain to get to work with intake piping.

I had initially looked at it like that, but after researching it a bunch I had thought the following:

CJ vs ported 18 will have a little top end gain and maybe even mid range (I know some say 18 is slightly better in the midrange, but many say no as well)

Ability to rev the CJ higher and continue to make power up there makes for improvement

Ported CJ vs 18 Ported makes up the mid range loss and extends top end advantage even more

Since you'll be on pump gas you'll likely run into a detonation bottleneck well before you run into any air flowrate bottleneck.
You already have the intake though which was probably from a max-effort N/A setup so might as well work with what you have. If you ever build your engine up and go for a max-effort S/C setup should be a sight to see!

Agreed for sure. I will go to E85 eventually. I can take 50gal drums about an hour away in the truck and get it. I just figured I can run this setup to 700whp or so and have a ton of fun. When I get the upgrade itch it's as simple as a fuel system and tune to kick it up.

You're correct, my initial thought was max effort N/A and jump to boosted in a couple years. Plus I had the CJ smoothed and painted oxford white to match the car (being painted now along with satin black on all interior/dash trim, radio knobs etc). I have the relo for battery, pcm, and fuse box etc as well, so the looks in the engine bay are important to me too. Body colored CJ looks bada$$. I just wish the gen3 had a good way to dress the valve covers etc like the older ones.

Yeah, I can't wait to get it all back together. I'm fortunate to have a friend/client with a body shop down the street from me who does lots of custom work. I striped the interior completely...radio knobs, toggle switches, speaker trim, door handles, dash panels and gauge trims, etc etc etc to go to satin black...just never was into chrome or polished look. The engine bay will be clean for sure with the relos and the painted CJ....just wish I could bring it to an even more "vintage muscle" type look
