Do you have a boost gauge? I running 10 psi from 7,000-7400 with just the 7.5 psi pulley 120mm. ZERO knock on 93 with that.
I'm jealous of your 93 octane. I also think that you're generating less heat on the G3 unit versus the G2.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the SC bracket or mounting and everything to do with fuel quality. Once I add octane boost to the fuel mixture it goes away. The more OB I run per tank of fuel the better the knock resistance and I see up to 19 degrees up top. I do not know why good 93 is so hard for me to find.
Had the same issues with 93 (We aren't too far from each other) which was why I added the methanol kit.
Not sure why our 93 doesn't seem to be as knock resistant as others running around the same timing and boost

I think it's because most of the fuel that is provided to the Houston and surrounding area comes from the same supply, then the additive packages get added depending on final destination, (Shell, Valero, Exxon). I haven't tried Stripes (Sunoco) yet, but I'm hoping it's better. The ethanol free 92 octane from Buc-ee's has been better than any of the above mentioned brands. It only see's 1-1.5 degrees of knock up top versus 3.5-4 degrees. I'm most likely going to go with a larger pulley until I can get a fuel system that will allow me to run e85.

I'm currently on a full tank of 92 ethanol free with 10oz's of Unleaded Octanium and it see's negative knock all the way through the pull.

In AZ the only chance of quality gas is shell or chevron. I stick to shell with the mustang personally. I also run meth and boostane (1/3 bottle) just to be safe. Been doing that for 14k miles with no issues.

a water meth system doesn’t cost too much and alleviates fuel worries. . That’s for us that don’t get E85 of course.
Anyone with a ESS on 91 or 93 and water meth ?

I'm also learning that 1/3 bottle of Octanium to a tank of fuel is enough to provide adequate protection against knock. It would be nice to find a legit station that sells true 93 octane.

I think that the octane ratings at the pump should be tested, regulated and guaranteed to be at least the octane rating on the sticker. I know, impossible to do, but damn it!

Muffin runs a pretty nice meth set up on his car with 93. There's some images of his set-up back in this thread. It's a very clean install.

I added a Snow Performance 2.5 kit a few weeks ago, same kit as Muffin. I just had enough time to take the car out and test the install before car got put away for the winter. PBD provided updated tunes to account for relocating the IAT sensor into the manifold. My IATs dropped below ambient in the two runs I was able to log, running 50/50 water/meth mix. Just running it for IATs, not tuning it for fuel. Will do some more testing in April or May when the car comes back out.

Do you just T into the bov line for boost reference so the system triggers when it sees boost right?

Yes. The kit came with a controller so you can set what psi it activates and what psi it is all in by. I had mine set to start at 4psi and be 100% at 11psi for my quick tests that i did with it.

How much timing are you guys trying to run on 93 ?
Mine is set with a cap at 19 degrees if it doesn't detect any knock, but it usually only see's 16-18 degrees after 7000rpm on a full can of octane boost.

On crap 93, it was only 8 degrees at 5800rpm when I aborted the run because of knock. The best I've seen on just 93 is 12-14 degree's before it starts to see knock and pulls timing back past 6000rpm.

When you do your runs how are you logging them? Are you turning traction off? For me I've seen as low as 6 degrees because the ecu is pulling time because the car has no traction. When I turn traction off the car basically skates on ice lol buy I see the max timing. But I guess if you are seeing positive knock then there's your answer.

Traction control off, advance-trac on. It's definitely knock related.

Attached image of datalog at part throttle, no torque source codes (no tire slip or throttle closures) and plenty of knock and almost no timing. Definitely a bad batch of 93 on this log.

Maybe try adding in 1 gallon of e85. That is way cheaper and more convenient than octanium.
