At $25 a can I would have to buy 6 of them to equate to the cost of the larger pulley, however I'm trying to find the best fuel source in my area and that requires a little bit of research and sometimes that costs money.

I just find it extremely odd that being this far South in Texas that I have to worry about winter blended fuels, but apparently we're not exempt from it here either.

I will eventually buy a 120mm and see if that will allow me to run the available to me 93 without having to use octane boosters. The octane limitation on pump 93 is an issue on non boosted Gen3's, add some boost and it's even more challenging.

IMO, the best way to combat knock is to be able to run e85, but the cost of the fuel system to support e85 is more prohibitive than the octane boosters. A proper fuel system is in the works, but it won't be this winter.

Keep the revs below 5000rpm, where's the fun in that? Lol

If you have access to e54 or you blend e85 with pump that would solve your problem. Unless you can't get a tuner to sign on.
E85 in my area is consistently above 80%, unfortunately there's not a dedicated pump of e54 available to me.

I'm not against blending ethanol (e85) with pump 93 to achieve a desired ethanol ratio, however my tuner is not onboard because of the variables with mixing. I understand their concern, but it's a little disappointing also.

I thought you could run your OEM fuel system, but add a Fuel Pressure booster and the appropriate injectors? Is this not possible for lower HP on E85 G3 mustangs?

I thought you could run your OEM fuel system, but add a Fuel Pressure booster and the appropriate injectors? Is this not possible for lower HP on E85 G3 mustangs?
The G3 moves some air even at lower boost levels and the charge temps are also cooler, so fueling demand especially on e85 will be greater than the G2 with the equivalent pulley size. I think a G3 on 7.5psi and e85 will be over 700whp assuming you have the fuel system to support it.

It's really going to depend on your tuner. There are others running the factory return-less fuel system on e85 but do so with a DW400, BAP and the appropriate size injector. I completely understand why my tuner doesn't support being boosted on e85 without a return style system, it's because someone would slap a smaller pulley on there, lean it out, break an engine, then try to blame the tune. Although personally, I do think it can be done safely without a return style fuel system as long as it stays on a larger pulley, but others say that you're playing with fire if the lift pump fuel pressure starts to drop.

My understanding is that the factory torque and fueling strategy will start to intervene if the fuel lift pump pressure drops too much the ecu will start to increase the port side injector duty cycle to meet demand, but if it reaches max allowed duty cycle then the ecu will close the throttle in an attempt to maintain the targeted afr's. I believe if this happens too often it will eventually throw a code.

You might be able to mitigate some of this issue by having more port side injector than needed for your desired power level which would keep injector duty cycle below max limit, but this is an untested theory on my end.

I really like the idea of running 30-40% ethanol blends which is enough to get to MBT but would be far less taxing on the in tank pump and return-less fuel system, but my tuner does not support this idea either.

Ultimately, I think the real benefit of being able run e85 versus lesser ethanol blends is because you can be more aggressive earlier with the ignition timing (as long as it tests at 85%) and to be able to pulley down because you're no longer knock limited, at that point you will then be either fuel system limited or mechanically limited.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you're referring to G3 as gen 3 right? Not to be confused with the G3 ess headunit. If that's the case then from what I've seen no tuner will tune you on boost on e85 with just injectors and a boost a pump. Yes you can run e85 with a BAP on stock injectors with a tune but I don't know of any tuner that will tune e85 and boost on just a bap.

If you want to look into my tuner it's Rhett at black market racing. I know HE does remote tuning 480-382-1696

Loving my little G2 unit, very fun and controllable. And lots of power for a street car. It's a handful with soft street tires in 1st and 2nd gear wot launch but I prefer spirited driving over drag racing so its fine for me. 3rd and 4th feels like a rocket launching into warp speed. What a fantastic kit for 5k.

I'm running the 115mm and I have knock issues up top without octane boosters on 93

I'm running the 115mm and I have knock issues up top without octane boosters on 93
does it have anything to do with the supercharger setup/mounting or is it all fuel related?

Do you have a boost gauge? I running 10 psi from 7,000-7400 with just the 7.5 psi pulley 120mm. ZERO knock on 93 with that.

Anyone running the 110mm pulley on 93? If so any problems with knocking? Want to run close to 10psi but I don’t wanna deal with knocking or additives. Or is it all fuel quality based?

It has absolutely nothing to do with the SC bracket or mounting and everything to do with fuel quality. Once I add octane boost to the fuel mixture it goes away. The more OB I run per tank of fuel the better the knock resistance and I see up to 19 degrees up top. I do not know why good 93 is so hard for me to find.
