How hard is it to access the relocated air filter for cleaning?
You need to take the front bumper cover off to get to it. It sounds like it would be a pain but its actually pretty easy. Takes maybe 10-15 minutes to get off.

Anyone have an ESS blower maxed out on e85?
That would be interesting to know. But I am thinking ESS Taylor's their kit more towards street applications not Max, High HP racing. Could be wrong?

To me I think of it like this... if you're not going to reinforce the internals then why even bother with a blower just because it'll make more horsepower. I'll elaborate on that... from what I read on this forum before doing any upgrades a safe stock whp seems to be below 750. At this level the engine is still reliable and the clutch or auto trans should not need to be upgraded. A G2 is capable of going well past this. I'm currently not having any issues with the clutch but I'm on the stock tires so the tires go before the clutch gives. At least that's my theory. So if you are looking at a g3 ask yourself will I use what I'm paying more for? Someone with a g3 should throw up a dyno and we can take a look at the torque curves.
I understand all that but if the G3 doesn't have any disadvantages over the G2 both at the same boost, I would rather spend the $500 now for the G3. I'm not saying I would max the G2 out but for $500 if the performance was even equal I would rather do the G3 now that way I have room to grow in the future. Based on rated CFM, the G3 is closer to most other popular setups and the G2 is a little on the smaller side

Not sure, would be interesting to see what the limit is.

You can access is from the driver side wheel well. Also I’m pretty certain I have removed the entire silicone inlet tube with the filter attached from the top of the engine bay with the radiator cowl/cover removed.
You can get to it from up top. That's how I do it. You take off the plastic cover on top of the radiator then remove the driver side support piece that's on top of the radiator and then you have plenty of room to pull it up from the top.

Sure, I get that. If I had extra money to throw at the car I would do the same thing. The thing that I really like about this build is how cost effective it is... for now.... until they remove the wholesale discount.

Similar situation to you for my decision, I'm leaning towards the G3 on Pump, it seems to make more power and torque down low then the g2
If I could do it over again, I would've bought the g3 unit vs. the v2 and ran less boost. I'm currently on the 115mm pulley (8.5psi) and have a hard time keeping it from knocking up top on 93. I think the increased efficiency on the g3 unit would allow me to make the same power with less heat and better knock resistance on 93. If you're going to go e85, then the g2 unit will get you to 800whp but it will become limited at that point.

On Exxon 93 I was seeing almost 4 degree's of knock up top and on the 92 e-free only 1.5 degrees of knock. I just added 10oz of VP Octanium Unleaded to a full tank of the e-free 92 to see if it will raise the knock threshold enough.

I prefer not to run the Octane boost all of the time, especially in larger quantities, so I will likely switch to a larger pulley until this winter blend crap is over.

The MMT that is used in octane boosters will leave an orange dusty coating on your plugs, o2 sensors, etc. It's the byproduct of the combustion of the MMT additive. It has even left my exhaust tips with an orange residue form frequent use.

If 8oz works, then I can get 4 tanks of fuel out of one can. The e-free unleaded is more expensive than any other pump 93 near me.

how many cans before you could have just bought yourself a pully? Or kept the revs below 5000?

At $25 a can I would have to buy 6 of them to equate to the cost of the larger pulley, however I'm trying to find the best fuel source in my area and that requires a little bit of research and sometimes that costs money.

I just find it extremely odd that being this far South in Texas that I have to worry about winter blended fuels, but apparently we're not exempt from it here either.

I will eventually buy a 120mm and see if that will allow me to run the available to me 93 without having to use octane boosters. The octane limitation on pump 93 is an issue on non boosted Gen3's, add some boost and it's even more challenging.

IMO, the best way to combat knock is to be able to run e85, but the cost of the fuel system to support e85 is more prohibitive than the octane boosters. A proper fuel system is in the works, but it won't be this winter.

Keep the revs below 5000rpm, where's the fun in that? Lol
