There's a lot more to the cost of insurance than you guys are stating. There's a huge difference between $50k per person/$150k per accident coverage and $100k per person/$300k per accident coverage. What is your property damage coverage? Do you carry uninsured motorist insurance and at what level? What are your deductibles for collision and comprehensive? All these things matter a lot. Merely saying you pay $1200 a year tells nothing about what you are paying for. Just my $.02.
Credit score is as factor up to about 50% of yearly premiums as well. Most people don't know this.

$545 a year for my gt350. No accidents or tickets. 41 yrs old. 250k/500k coverage, $250 collision deductible, $0 comp deductible.

I take my collision off during the winter months so it's actually cheaper then that but that's my 12 month policy cost with coverage on for a full year.

Mine is $1,300 in Louisiana, age 63. I wonder if the states with lower insurance costs has tort reform. Louisiana does not.

That is just evil. A guy or gal that gets sent through the ringer when a marriage ends, and their credit takes a huge hit, doesn't change if they are a good safe driver or not.

That has to be collector car insurance, and not run of the mill auto insurance.
Collector/classic car insurance is a whole different animal.

Four cars, two drivers, wife and I. '13 XTS, '15 Impala, '17 Mustang V6, '91 Caprice. Full coverage (no collision on Caprice) w/ $500 deductible, Travelers ins., $2000 annual. Wife had a $5k crash this year, her fault. We'll see what happens to the premium.

Nope, standard insurance through State farm. Works out to about $46 a month.

You think that's bad? My son is a doctor, and doctors get super-low rates. The people who can afford to pay the most get the cheapest rates.

anyone use Hagerty's? Not just for older models....they do insure newer cars that meet their criteria.

https://www.hagerty.com/
I don' t know much about these guys... but they kind of shafted a buddy of mine. His car got banged up pretty good in an accident and when he called to file a claim they told him he hadn't paid on his insurance. He checked back and something had happened where they tried billing him on a card they had on file that he hadn't used in a really long time. Trouble is they never notified him of the lapse. No call, no notice in the mail... As far as he knew all was right as rain.

Soooo... $489/yr.

I'm 52, married, homeowner, been with USAA for the last 17 years and have a spotless driving record.

PS: My wifes 16 Edge Sport costs more to insure than my Mustang!
