So the combo of the LT headers and Flowmaster Outlaw exhaust has proven to be about the loudest option I could have put on the 2018 Roush Phase II SC mustang (see mod list in sig). Contemplating doing a muffler swap to something a little more tame and less thunderous than the FLowmaster Outlaw. Was thinking about Borla, MagnaFLow, or perhaps Corsa mufflers. I do not want to change my axle back set up nor the tips; the matte black quad tips with the Flowmaster Outlaw axle back kit are actually quite nice and look very sharp on the car.

Would appreciate any suggestions from folks running LT headers. Any sounds clips would also be appreciated.

Thank you.

I can’t even imagine LOL I have active exhaust on my 2020 and a Steeda H pipe. It’s plenty loud for me. Your setup would require hearing protection hahaha

You could have some Vibrant resonators added to tame it down.

It is kind of funny to see someone install what you have and complain it’s too loud….what did you expect? 😂

earplugs. If you can't hear it, then it's not a problem, right?
The stock resonator should help. Or put a big-ass dual-inlet/outlet muffler where the resonator goes. FLowmaster Part # 530504 for instance. Or Gibson BM0112

Now now sir - very far from my first rodeo. I absolutely expected it would be quite loud, but, its the combination with the Flowmaster Outlaws and they produce a very low tone. I would rather have something a little higher pitched and/or raspy. With the LTs, it will also be on the very loud side. So I am trying to brainstorm here with other members who may be running a different set up with their LTs, such as Borla, Magnaflow, or Corsa - just to name a few.

I will look into this in more detail - thank you.

Fair enough, the Vibrants will help and you can keep what you have. That is the standard fix for these situations where you want to keep everything else the same.

Banana in the tailpipes. For each pipe you stuff one in to, the quieter she gets🤓

Appreciate the suggestion and I will look into it.

On a side note, would love to hear about your 2020 GT500. Do you track it? I have heard so many awesome things about that vehicle. I have not driven one yet and cannot wait for the opportunity to do so. I track my 350R and it is an animal on the road course. Another 200 horse in that car would be just scary. Hence the 850-ish fwhp 2018 Roush Phase II I have. I may put another $10k or so into the 2018 car and also track it, but for now, hoping to get it to the drag strip this fall (got rained out twice this year and been so tough to find good days with my crazy work schedule).

Sadly, bananas are not fat enough to get into the tips of the this exhaust. I would have to stuff a bushel in there.

Funny, we’ve talked about getting a 350 for track days. The 500 is an animal, I took it out and pushed it for the first time last weekend. The only way I can compare it is to liken it to having a four wheeled liter bike. It stays impressively flat in the corners and for Public roadways I never got it unsettled. I had a 2013 I built up to 700hp or so and it was a scary damn car when pushing it in a corner.

I’m sure it would be slower, but I would love a manual in the car.

the 350R manual transmission is fantastic and I love it on the track.

Your points on pushing your prior 700hp car hard in the corners is where I am also struggling. It is a little looser than I would like since I lowered it - especially when compared to something so solid and tight as the 350R. The pp1 suspension, while upgraded, is no where enough. My 2018 needs additional suspension enhancements (already built up the list but still investigating), cooling upgrades (likely intercooler and trans; I think I have diff cooler), and also need some track rubber and ditch the drag radials - if I intend to enjoy that car on the road course. Honestly did not think I would want to turn a low 10 second car into a track car - but, it sure as hell sounds like fun and also a challenge.
