Hey guys, I guess I'm getting old but my exhaust is giving me an ear bleed headache if i drive more than 2 hours I'd like some advice in modifying my current Setup:

SW LT headers
Catless OR pipes
x2 Vibrant 18" resonators
Gibson catback exhaust

Its full dual 3" all the way using the original Xpipe except I welded on a set of those vibrant resonators on the font of the xpipe to no avail... well i take that back, those eliminated all drone but still 2x louder than before the headers. Its still making my ears bleed on long trips. I was wondering If I could cut out the x-pipe completely and install a Dual 3" in/out 2 or 3 chamber muffler where the Xpipe used to be. Or would adding another set of 12" resonators where the Cats should be help at all? If I put in the mid muffler would I even need those 18" resonators? Anyone have experience with this situation? It does have a Whipple on it so throwing Cats back on is a no go as it'll just melt them in a few months like it did to the stock ones.

Kinda a side note is it possible to add an active exhaust system to a 2015 GT? Be nice to have that ability to just flip the drive mode switch when i'm doing a cold start in the neiborhood or want to do a WOT pull.

I just keep adding bullet mufflers till it is quiet enough.

The tru X is very restrictive and you might blow it out with lots of boost and high RPM.

You can extend the tips so they stick out farther than the bumper. That will reduce in cabin noise.

Personally, get the Gibson off your Supercharged car. The Gibson mufflers don’t flow enough for supercharged.

If you can throw cats on the set up and it will help. You can always run your headers through a stock resonator and then the aftermarket axel back. Just options.

When I installed my borla resonator it helped a ton. I have debated installing stock headers with cats deleted in place of my off road longtubes when I pull my motor just to take it down a notch.... it's nice to have the active system which helps on cold startups

That's the setup I have. To get it quieter, you would need to go back to stock.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm going to try putting two more bottle resonators where the cats would be if that doesn't do it i'll get the Borla touring.

Just curious how Gibsons dont flow enough for SC applications? baffled muffler vs straight through design? My only concern is that straight thru exhausts are much louder then chambered designs.

@GregO

Gibson doesn't even sell the SFT superflows anymore. They only sell MFT and CFT mufflers for our cars which is about 3cfm less than a 3" straight pipe. My car is too loud because I'm basically straight piped with some resonators. I'm mainly thinking how much restricting flow for sound will affect HP. If its negligible say 10-20hp I don't think i'll notice at the 700hp range. That is what I don't know. But as far as boosted cars Gibson outflows everything on that list you linked which is my original problem, DB level.
