No, I'm still on stock axles and stock driveshaft.
I am not one who believes you need to upgrade every part to be able to run higher HP TQ. That's just over kill. People on this forum are running stock driveshafts and axles with no issue. I am running street tires and not planning to go to track. Keep us informed. Thanks

It really depends on what conditions you're subjecting your car to. If it's going to be regularly on a prepped surface then you would definitely want to upgrade the common failure parts. If your goal is to just drive and enjoy the car, then by all means it's probably not necessary to upgrade the driveline components. As long as the car tracks straight and doesn't get too squirrely when it spins, imo you're good to go.

Yep, and I do plan on upgrading the required parts, I just want to see how this works out before I do. If I plan to take to track and hit hard from a stop, then of course I would replace them accordantly. Thanks

Hey everyone, looking as jumping on the ESS Wagon from New Zealand.

I've got a question re G2 vs G3, would the G3 be a better option for building more boost in the lower range (sorry supercharger noob, played with turbos all my life).

I've got 1500cc injectors, JMS BAP, DW400 Pump, OPG & Crank Sprocket. Would this be better suited for a g3 or would I get just as much torque from a g2 across the rev range?

Joseph,

The short answer to your question is that the G2 and G3 should perform similarly at moderate power levels. The G3 beings to shine at higher power levels when the G2 starts to run out of breath. Your end power goal will determine which is best for you.
Awesome thanks for the quick reply! think ill go for the g2, its still going to be my daily driver :)

Thanks!

Well, came real close to hitting my goal of a 9 second pass today. This was on the 105mm (11psi) pulley running Sunoco 260 GT 100 octane fuel and a race tune from PBD. DA was around 2200. I logged the run, and looking at it after, there was 3-4 degrees of positive knock above 7000rpms. My shift points are set to 7400. Timing on this tune is maxed for 22 degrees, but with the knock obviously it pulled a bunch out. I loaded my 93 octane tune for my next run and ran a 10.20@142. This run was far more typical with -3 to -4 degrees of knock logged. I'll send the logs for the 2 runs to PBD to get Rob to review and see what he suggests.

I have half a pail of Sunoco and a free entrance to a test and tune night left, and that will probably be it for this year. I'm leaning towards keeping the 11psi pulley on the car and using the 93 tune. Im my street logging with the car, I've never seen positive knock with it, so I feel comfortable at the moment running it. For the track, I can swap back to the 110mm pulley and run the race tune with the additional timing, the last time at the track I had no issues with knock with that setup.

You are so close to the 9s. Once you get an updated tune to prevent the knock, you in there

I just ordered the G2 kit with the larger intercooler. I am stuck though between keeping the 8.5 psi pulley I ordered or changing it for the 9.5 psi pulley. I'll be running 93 on it.
I made 680hp on the 8.5psi pulley running 93. Id say it all depends what your goals are with the car and how conservative you want to be. With the 9.5 pulley i have seen 11-12psi if i spin the motor higher than the 7400 shift points set in the tune. I think that's about the max that is safe for 93. There are a few others running the 9.5 pulley and i dont think any of them have had tuners see any issue with their setups.

I wish I could have made it to Grand Bend! No luck... my daughter home from university for the weekend took precedence.

Nice times! So close!!

Good turn out? I’m not really able to go to test and tunes as they don’t like teching my convertible. No Prep was ok though, go figure.

22*... my oh my. What does your 93 tune run for timing? I have a 100 octane tune and smaller pulley as well but I’ve never had the cojones to run them. My 93 tune runs 18* for comparison. I’m with Lund though. (Different blower though as well).

You should come to sportsworld next Sunday - see the Canada thread...

ESS advised against anything higher than 7.5 on pump gas but I think they were being conservative which isn't bad. I think we have some info now that supports you can safely run 9.5 on 93 like Kevin mentioned. I personally like having the option to go between 8.5 and 11 depending on the fuel. It's an appreciable difference.

Turn out was good. Good mix of newer Mopars and Fords there.

My 93 tune maxes out at 18* as well. On the 9.5 pulley 22* has been good with the 100 octane fuel, the 11psi is a bit much. The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to switch back to the 9.5 pulley full time and keep the 11psi one in case I make the jump to e85.

I will see if I can make it to the meet for Sunday for sure. Thanks for the heads up.
