ugh, those people are the worst. backing into spot is only for middle of night when there's no one that would need to wait for you.

I always back in or pull through when parking in a lot. It is much safer to pull out than to back out.

I have to admit, my valve core removal tool may have accidentally fallen into the valve STEM of this car that parked way too close and put a big dimple/ding on the side of my then brand new 2010 genesis coupe... the valve STEM accidentally had the cap removed when the stem core tool fell in (all the way from my glovebox I might add), and then when I tried to remove the tool, i may have rotated it multiple times, and then when i heard a woosh, i may have noticed it and put the fallen cap back on for the owner without the valve core, but just ever so slightly loose.

I too, figured, that by the time the car had a flat, they wouldn't realize who/where/what, and they'd be more confused on why they can't put air in their flat tire...

Those valve core tools have a mind of their own!
I like the idea of taking the valve core completely out and putting the cap back on kinda loose....
Makes the punishment even worse.
Got that committed to memory now.....

I never park next to anyone... noticed this the other day, not sure when or where it happened. This took some force or intention from whoever did this.

I disagree with people saying they are parking next to your because they will be safer. Otherwise they would just park by themselves.

If a person who cares about their car parks with open spaces on both sides, its random who might park next to them. But if they park next to someone who they believe parked in the boonies to reduce chances of someone who doesn't care parking next to them, they are almost certainly safer to park next to them than taking the lottery.

People are just being a d*car. That's my car in the middle. I parked way away from everyone and not like an ass. I had to slide sideways to get into my car.

If you had to slide sideways that implies the spot on your driver side was empty when you parked. You might want to consider taking an end spot instead so you only have to worry about who parks on one side of your car instead of both sides.

I had one over the weekend that sent me over the edge. I had to make a stop at Home Depot and parked out in the middle of nowhere, hugging the curb on an end spot. When I came out this piece of trash 90's Chevy truck with an open trailer in tow was parked about 6 inches from me. I was steaming pissed because despite not finding any damage, and only superficial rub marks that came off with spit, this was obviously intentional. I considered waiting for them to come out to start a fight over it. The thing was too, their entire rig was so trash I couldn't even do anything to it for revenge. The windshield was already broken, there was so much rust you could see through most of the body panels, there wasn't a square inch that didn't have a dent anywhere on this thing. I did a careful walk around, and after seeing no permanent damage calmed myself down. Normally I'm not a vindictive person, really, but I must have been in a mood that day because I had to do something to be like SCREW YOU! So I chewed up a piece of gum then stuck it under the door handle heh.... Whatever, I know it's really petty but probably far better than starting a fight or being caught on camera slashing tires.

What are the odds of working remote door locks on a 90s POS work truck? Break a few toothpicks off in the locks and lock the doors. No permanent damage but a major inconvenience. Helps to imagine they got fired for being late to the job site. And if the cops get involved, if one isn't Rainman, they won't figure out that number are missing from your box.

I get it. Food for thought. But there were at least seven open spaces on the other side of me. I still couldn't understand why someone would knowingly park so close that I could barely get my drivers side door open. That's just being an annoying ass. I wasn't trying to do any harm to anyone. People keep making excuses for bad behavior. I have found when I park next to the furthest shopping cart rack, no one bothers to park next to me. So that's a good thing.

No doubt they were being an ass. But I accept that I can't kill them all so try to minimize their opportunities to ply their trade.

Sitting so close that I had to say excuse me can I get into my trunk. I was so shocked that I had to take a picture, otherwise no one would ever believe me.

Reminds me of a gas station stop I made. I saw some kittens so I went in to buy cat food to put out and when I returned to my car there were six guys chit chatting behind my car. One was leaning agains it and two were resting their arms on the spoiler. Fortunately it was a winter beater but it was one of the most "what the f*ck" moments I've ever experienced. Winter beater aside, the car was taken care of and free of body rust. I walked up and went with the "uh, can I help you?" And they all acted like it was perfectly normal.

What's wrong with wanting to take care of your car that you paid good money for. The car maybe something you worked hard for and you may think it's special or your dream car. People shouldn't want to take a dump on you for that. If that was the case no one should dress up for weddings either. What do you think you're special? What about graduations, should someone rip up your cap and gown, least you feel you are special and accomplished something. Sounds stupid to me. Nothing wrong with wanting to park YOUR vehicle away from others. Your response is what's wrong with everyone today. Can't be happy for someone else. Don't hate. Congratulate.

Nothing is wrong with it. I am disappointed at anyone who doesn't want to take care of something they spent their hard earned money on. Guess what, that Altima sitting in the parking lot with an open space next to it might be the realization of someone else's ability or dream. I'm just saying that parking your car away from others does entitle one to get special treatment nor should an owner be offended if someone parks next to them. It is a parking lot, after all. I'm all for mitigating the risk of damage but you cannot control the actions of others.

Posted this in the Cell Phone Pictures thread but seems fitting to share what happened to my car here. A week ago a Truck decided he didn't like my bumper and when he pulled out of his parking spot his back tire ripped it right off. Guy was driving his brothers truck said he wasn't use to how wide the tires stuck out. If you notice I was in the last parking spot as close to the curb as I could get to keep my distance from any other vehicles. Yeah... That didn't work as planned

Posted this in the Cell Phone Pictures thread but seems fitting to share what happened to my car here. A week ago a Truck decided he didn't like my bumper and when he pulled out of his parking spot his back tire ripped it right off. Guy was driving his brothers truck said he wasn't use to how wide the tires stuck out. If you notice I was in the last parking spot as close to the curb as I could get to keep my distance from any other vehicles. Yeah... That didn't work as planned

Was that the truck to your right ? I really can't see how someone could accidentally rip your bumper off with all that room you have in your parking space.
