I was thinking about cutting it open. I did pull it out of the trash. What’s the best way to cut it open without adding more metal into the mix?
Have you given a thought about taking the filter, uncut and what is seen in the pan and glitter, to the dealer ?. That really does not, to put it mildly look very good.

It looks like mostly aluminum shavings so it may be okay in the end, but its not a good thing that so much escaped the filter.

We are supposed to be the new FBI and space force HQ on the arsenal I believe!
Yep, my kiddo is working on the wiring in the FBI building. They are talking 2024 before anything really gets going with the space command.

I would have thought the new Space Senators would have demanded it be built in space.

Performed first oil change @ 3626mi. OLM @ 23%. Tried Rhino ramps. After 4th try I gave up. They kept shooting out - will return those...Good thing I have the Steeda jacking rails :like:. Once I got past the draining process with the horrible factory plug I installed my Ronin plug that’s been sitting around for a few months. Found a few chucks of metal and a lot of glidder in the bottom of the “brand new plastic drain pan”. I know it’s the first oil change but in all my cars this is the most I’ve seen. It hasn’t used much oil and no tick before or after oil change. I did purchase a six pack of UOAs from Blackstone. Bottled one up from this first oil change to start a baseline. BTW Went M1. 5w-20.

I've been staring at these with my mouth open for a good 5 minutes! Oy! I'd be documenting this with the dealer for sure. Did you save the filter?

I will probably call them and see if they are even remotely interested in seeing them. Maybe call a few dealers until one says oh yeah let us see it. I have the filter. Will cut it open after work. Will post pics if anything is interesting.

Had the front camera installed, along with upgraded door speakers and center speaker. The rear parcel shelf speakers go in next week. All weather floor mats from Steeda came today as did the .5" lowering springs. They go in Sat.
Got some info on that front camera set up?

What are the big chunks in the oil? Looks like some silicone sealant (orange pieces) and other stuff. All that stuff was probably too big to get stirred up in the oil pan while the engine was running, and/or too big to go through the oil pick-up tube screen.

I don’t know what they are. I do think the darker ones are some kind of sealant as well.

Cut the filter open. Not much to report. No big chunks, more glitter - not much.

If the filter is relatively empty I wouldn't worry that much, see if you get more on the second change. You likely won't.
Here’s hoping. Almost wanting to burn the 60 bucks here soon and just do another oil change to flush it out.
