I say lack of fuel because a factory duel pump fuel system is designed to support 760 crank hp, it cannot handle the near 1100 crank hp that car had. Frankly i’m amazed it lasted as long as it did!

Pretty sure it was near 1100 REAR wheel HP so even more to your point.

He always said the whp was 933 & that equates to about 1100 crank, but either way that fuel system is insufficient for that power especially when it has to push e-85..

Agreed.....which still makes no sense, maybe he is oblivious, but he had people working on his car that would/should no better so I still am unclear how it left the hands of any shop under-fueled on what appears to be super obvious issue....with the mods he has...

AFAIK his car is the only one that has been torn into for cam install. Not necessarily the cause of failure but the disassembly / reassembly of the engine certainly introduces yet another variable...

Agreed, this just adds another complication to the mystery. But if he was running stock fuel pumps then that alone is an issue, or so I have been told.

I'm curious if the cams that he installed were designed for the GT500 or did he throw in cams for the sake of putting in cams?

If you look at the pictures that piston melted. It was WAY lean. The question is "why was it lean?"

I say he put E10 in the tank and blew it on purpose to get his GT500 views up.

And it worked!

This is one reason to wait for the proven package when looking at mods. I've always waited until the warranty is up and the car is sorted for anything major. When I had my 03 Cobra tuned I went with a proven port (Steigmeier stage 4) mild pulley/ boost 2.95 at 12.5 psi and the other supporting mods (intake/catback, gauges) to make sure it was reliable and "lived" for a long time. 17 years of ownership she's still amazing.

I am looking for a set .They are not that expensive from Ford ... but I will take them for cheap as my contribution to his rebuild cost

Well I have a 2020 GT500 with 2.45 pulley lethal track exh lethal fuel rail kit ID1300s PBD E-85 tuned JLT big air kit Whipple innercooler and auxiliary cooler pump SPE thermostat. Signature 20x11 Nd 18x11 wheel set up. 305/45/18 M/T ET street R and ran 9.6 At 151 all weekend in 1500+ DA not a hiccup car ran great. PBD rob has the car manering very well drove to and from track 300 mile round trip twice sat/sun. I’m in love w my Shelby all over again do not hesitate to build and enjoy stangmode runs that car on any pump fuel he can get his hands on not to mention he beats the crap out of it and I’ve never seen him look at any gauges ever. But then again he probably wouldn’t know what to look for the guy is a Nubie at this game and only for the YouTube money for god sakes he blew up a midnight performance A-10 on 2 Nd time out. Geesshhh
