2nd Blown Modified GT500? This time it's Stangmode with Hulk!

What do you believe is the cause of Stangmodes’ blown motor?

Guys wanna modify and do things for clout. Add cams to a GT500. Yeah great! Change supercharger parts. Sure. Awesome! Run an E85 Tune. Yeah perfect! Blown short block, motor and destroyed intercooler, and blower. Great? Now he’s left with a paper weight that he can part out or basically pay $40 grand to fix. Huge waste of money.

Unless you have a 91 or 93 oct tune from your tuner.
I am trying to wrap my head around this on my GM LT4 my tune takes care of everything i can run any combination/ratio of 91 octane to E85 without doing ANYTHING, outside of initially adding a flex fuel sensor.

WHY is this not available or being used on this platform? What am i missing?

The tri core PCM has no provisions for aux inputs. So cannot add a fuel sensor.

The F150's are flex enabled and the PCM uses the Wideband to infer an E %

Good enough for N/A stock engines but not trust worthy enough for supercharged.

I'm going to see if I can find a read from a GT500 to see if it uses the same software as the rest of the mustangs.

Learn something new everyday......now everything is making a little more sense. This really sucks cause we do NOT have ethanol locally. However i would run 91 , drive to the track 1hr away fill up with ethanol run it for the evening then resume back to 91. All with doing nothing with my tune. This is on GM LT4.

I was able to find a stock file for a 2020 GT500.

It is the same software. It does have the flex logic turned off. It works in the trucks and I have a flex tune for my 17. Are you a gambler? Someone might be confident enough to write a flex tune.

It is also speed density like the eco boost. Not MAF like the coyotes.

I don't know if the eco's are flex or not.

NO ......NO....I am not gambling on a GT500, i just assumed flex tunes were universally used on all modern cars..........again learn something new everyday

And if it doesn't have a sensor to read ethanol content, then anything else is best guess, so not sure how that even works. I don't want my ethanol content determined by an algorithm of a by product of combustion, especially when it can just be read.

On the F150 (at least back when I purchased mine). Only the V8 and the N/A V6 were flex. The ecoboost (3.5 and 2.7) were gasoline only. I wouldn't be suprised if forced induction is a "no no" or not supported for Ford when it comes to E85.

The tune I found has the MAF sensor disabled. It is fitted with a MAP sensor.

The variable cam timing is strange also.

I think he does all this for clicks, but no way he meant to blow that for YT.. dude is douche bag, BUT on the highest end he is making 4k a month, 48k a year off YT. There may be other things but just YT itself isnt paying for these repairs. Dudes channel isnt anywhere close. Hell channels like Goonzquad and Cleetus only making 1/2 to 3/4 a million a year. even at that point your blowing a months revenue jjust to hopefully get it back.

They make money off of merchandise. The first 5 min or so are hawking goods.
I hate to say it but I watched some of all these videos. What I didn't understand was pulling the engine from the top and not removing the hood. Maybe they did after the camera was off.

He will milk this for 5 or 6 more 20 min videos.

How many clicks would he get from 10 street racing vid's VS 10 with the headline "Blown GT500 engine What went wrong?"

He took it to a real good engine shop.
