Anything with a MAF housing sized differently than stock will need a tune. And quite honestly, if you don't have a 18+ manifold and the rpm turned up, the stock 15-17 with a quality drop in filter will do.

At what RPM will the 17 stock cai become a restriction?

If I'm not changing manifolds would the mishimoto air tube offer any improvement in power or throttle response over the 17 air tube.
Ditto for changing manifolds, along with the 18 cai, is the mishimoto any benefit?

So I assume the Mishimoto and other air tubes are snake oil?

Ordered a 19 stock CAI off the bay for 99 delivered. If it doesn't do anything I am not out much. Also have a MPVI2 on it's way.

Mainly yes, especially the K&N which is actually a bit smaller than the stock tube. There isn't much power difference in the tube portion between the TB and MAF, as the rest of the parts will then become restriction. You can make that tube as big as you want, if it's all being bottlenecked by the filter and MAF then it won't be much better.

Now if you increase both that tube size and the MAF and filter, then yes it's going to make a difference.

Took some time but I got the tune figured out. This torque based crap is just that...crap.

Period based airflow MAF sensors confused me at first. Got it dialed in, not too sure I know what the heck I did. Logs show good numbers, might need a tuning class

I've emailed mods and I still cannot quote anyone.

I used a correction factor of 1.3495. That got me close,

It's the % difference of 'x' MAF to 'y' MAF. If 'y' MAF is 31% larger, that's your correction factor.

86mm equals 5808.8,
100mm equals 7850
7850/5808.8 = 1.351

I took the stock 17 MAF map and multiplied by 1.351

That ran a touch rich so I adjusted down
