Either the '17 stock air intake (w/ factory filter) flows very well, or the JLT not so much. But in the 1/4 mile, same et/trap. Same tune, just one was CAI, other no CAI. STOCK IAT were lower at idle & under 30mph. What can I say? I'm a believer in the stock stuff now. So stock went back on.

Yep the stock airbox is the best just get a drop in airfilter and remove the carbon trap inside the box.

@bjstang Haha mine didn't look like that, it's white about 6" long 2.5" wide. But I yanked it.

Unless you are revving up to and past 7500 rpm, the stock box with the Mishimoto tube and a good filter is going to be the best. That combination makes more power than everything else up to approx 6500 rpm. And there's no point in revving higher than about 7200 with the stock manifold because of how the power drops off.

I'm enjoying my 2018 JLT with my 18 manifold, but I do like the closed setups. I keep looking at my stock 2018 intake sitting in my closet and doing a tune revision.

I believe a CAI with larger intake tube will definitely bring you more power when at highway speeds. The tune will accommodate for the larger air intake to add timing.

Summer months in Austin I would go back to stock box.

As long as the air intake track flow is = / > than the throttle body flow, It'll make power.
