They won't give you that optionality b/c the decision makers appear to be pinheads.

Just watched the live stream and remembered the seats in the HP car with grey appearance pack. The seats had the orange stripe and a unique style, based on the heated cooled seats rather than the recaros. Seems ideal for the street spec, but the track focused pack should surely have the more track focused seats...

So..... you spend X amount of dollars to develop the Mach1 and you will not build enough for demand....(per Jim Owens from Ford on AutoLine today) ????
So.....if 10 or 20K people want to buy one and you only build 5,000 you are turning away customers as a business model ????
And...setting up the dealers to justify charging ADM to piss off loyal Mustang owners/fans who want one ????
And....making us wait it out to get one at CarMax a year or two later like I did with my 2003 Mach1 (however, back then I only had to wait 6 months for the price to drop 17% off sticker, while the greedy dealers still wanted sticker price or more).

I wonder how difficult it would be to grind off the black paint on the base wheel to get that traditional Mag500 look? Mask/remove/sand/polish/clear, a decent body shop should be able to accommodate that. It could come out looking like total crap too. I agree, Ford should throw out at least one additional factory wheel choice. I’m really not liking the base wheel in the sunlight as seen in the newly posted FJG pics.

Quick fix. Take them off, sell them or store them and buy what you like. It’s a special edition so you only get one choice.

My experience with satin black wheels is they get dusty and dirty fast.

I'll say this I understand ford needs to make money to still be a business. But after watching the F150 debut its clear to me where there heads are at. And that is where the most volume is at. F150 sells insanely and they have 8 million different option ect. Also look at how much detail they added to the new F150 lockable storage a million led lights to work at night seats that recline 180 to sleep and freaking vice point to cut woods ect with not to even touch about a built in generator that can run 8 fridges. Now look at what we got with the Mach 1. im not saying I don't like it. but clearly there was a strict time line and budget. ford can do amazing things and this mach 1 isn't one of them. We will need to look at the new f150 and see how much of that carries over to the bronco. in the mean time hopefully the redesign mustang will get as much love as the gt350 got when it debuted.

you aren't wrong about where they put the vast majority of their effort. And hopefully they put some of their truck effort into the Bronco.

73k mustangs, vs 896k F-series last year (couldn't find a breakdown on F-150 vs F-250 vs F-350)

but it would've been nice to see something truly unique in the Mach 1 besides pieces of this and that thrown in to make one really kick ass non shelby (it is kick ass, but not 'unique')
