Not sure if this one's been posted yet.............but the video is better when they let the car make the music :like:
Huh. So what's going on there? I recall there were some articles about how great it sounded, but we know how a GT sounds, we know how a Bullit sounds, this sounds ... different. They didn't go into it in the press release, but is this some new exhaust setup?

this just looks like a 2021 mustang with a stripe package on it that i can do at my home myself....and add wheels.
If you think this is just stripes and wheels, this car is clearly not for you. Just get a GT. The extra performance add-ons on the Mach 1 will be wasted on you.

Is it just me or does the shark fin antenna kill the look of the car? It so sleek looking until you go to the roof...minor detail but it bugs me.

Well, for one thing, it's got the 4" quad tips from the GT500, so I suspect that'll have something to do with it. But there may be more exhaust trickery afoot. Personally, I think it sounds awesome!

It says reflective accent stripes, I wonder if there actually reflective like the old Mach stripes that would be cool

biggest thing i'm disappointed about is no shaker. granted the 1969-70 had them as options but the 2003-04 Mach 1's' had the shaker and you could easily distinguish them from the other cars. raised hood, shaker, unique side window....etc.
this just looks like a 2021 mustang with a stripe package on it that i can do at my home myself....and add wheels.
they even used 2 Mach 1's from '69 one with shaker the other with fake scoop, and yet this one had no scoops, shakers, nothing....
im sure it was cost but even if they did something with the existing scoops to make it look like the 70's models that would at least be something....
I agree that I'd like to see a shaker or the '71 Boss style hood. Something more unique for a hood.

However, the front end is really cool looking to me. Much better than the 2018+ regular Mustangs. I actually think it's better than 2015-2017 now that I've looked at it a bit more.

After watching that I changed my mind. I think the air intakes in the grill look good. I see they are flattened at the top - not just round. They actually look really good in that video.

I think for a Boss they should destroke a 7.3 to 429ci, come out with a new Boss '9
I love the idea of having a new Boss 429, but not using a pushrod V8 for it. With modern emissions, pushrod V8s just aren't that great. One of the best features of the Mustang is the high revving DOHC V8.

that would require a completely new block though, Can you even push the coyote to 5.7L?

Maybe push the 6.2L up a bit to get to 7L (7.03L)?

I don't think it's "bitching" so much as: 1) wanting this pretty historical marque to have a little something more unique in terms of power (vs. just, it's the Bullit again ...), and 2) a little disappointment after the rumors of something approaching (and maybe even exceeding) the 500HP mark. Heck, I was thinking __all__ GTs would get 480 HP since it's just a couple of changes, and that would push the special cars up to 495-515 or so.
It kinda comes off that way from where I’m standing. I get the marketing aspect, it’s a good spot for them to throw a little more power in there and say it’s the most powerful coyote to date. But we’re not going to miss 20hp, even on the butt dyno.

I typically like to wait until the cars hit the streets and see what they’re all about. They’re claiming 480hp. But I remember a very specific mustang of the early 2000’s that was claimed to make 390hp. Until people started baselining them and finding out they were putting down 375whp...

Yeah, it sounds great, it's got a burbly exotic sound, that's mixed with a deep mellow tone. I think there's some extra exhaust black magic going on ... heck, maybe they just bolted up on the GT500 rear section and that's how it sounds!

Fair enough, but IMO the whole visibility / interior complaints about the Camaro are blown way out of proportion.
For you yes. Not for me. I sold my C7 Z51/magride because I have kids and wanted something a little more practical. Never owned a Mustang in my life. Was 100% thinking Camaro ZL1 or ZL1 LE. Test drove both and looked at a few 19 SS 2 1LE's but hated the front end on the 19's. ZL1 1LE is awesome but undriveable on our roads here and I drive my cars 12 months a year (no garage queen). I liked the ZL1 and SS 1LE a lot in terms of being a drivers car but I had too many reservations on the whole package.

Visibility was worse than my C7, and I didn't love the big heating/AC vents at my knuckles. Backseat was really tight, trunk opening very limited, and too be honest I just did not love the overall styling of the car. Styling is subjective but I have learned over the years when buying cars that if you have reservations you should look around some more especially before you drop $50-60K+ on a car.

Enter the Mustang. I test drove a 17 PP1 a few years back and liked it but did not love it. When the GT350's came out they were impossible to find near me and many were marked up. But this is 2019 and I started seeing new and used prices on GT350's and got excited. Test drove one and fell in love. It had the handling and Tremec gearbox I loved in the Camaro but a more practical interior and (to me) a more stylish exterior and that 5.2 L 8200rpm Voodoo was really, really special. I come from a long line of high revving RX-7's and there is something special about a car that can rev over 8K and keep pulling over 6K.

I really think this model should have been called Boss 302. To me, the G1 Mach 1 options were an appearance option, nicer interior and stripes-to get the muscle you had to pay more. I'm thinking Ford wants some synergy with the Mach E coming out.

I have mixed feelings. I'm very happy with the Tremec 6 speed from the GT350, the engine oil and axle coolers, and the revised front end. I'm disappointed with the power figures and the hood. This is the Mach 1 for crying out loud! I was hoping for a Shaker hood or the NACA ducts. Disappointed to see the hood from the GT. I also expected at least 500hp and a bump in torque. The rumors of 525hp led to high expectations.(Although in the press release there seems to be a hint to a new Boss 302 with the rumored 525 hp. We'll see.) I don't understand the rear brake calipers either. I expected rear Brembos. Overall, I think it's a great package, but just falls a little short in the power department. If Ford prices this right, it will be very appealing.
i couldn't agree more and you took the words right out of my mouth.

Why does Ford insist on gloss black plastic, ONLY for the upper grille...? Who the hell is designing it that way and who hurt them?
