I went stripeless in my order... as much as I like the black stripes on the iconic silver, I didn’t want the hassle of the factory vinyl.
yeah, for what you pay for them on a new build you can apply that toward properly applied stripes. I bought mine used at a good price, so don't mind pulling them off after the fact.
I did mind having to replace the cup2's with a more streetable, higher wear tire.... should have left those on the R only....

Took me 4 years and 3 months but today, I finally paid it off! First car I ever bought brand new and the largest purchase of my life so far. I'm beyond excited right now. Here's a celebratory picture from my last track day a couple weeks ago.

Painted is the way to go. For mine they just scuffed the factory clear on the entire panel, laid down the stripes and cleared over the whole panel. But with Ruby Red, the clear is tinted. Since human painters can't lay the clear as thin as the factory, it would be interesting to know how they compensate. Do they use less tint in the clear or what? Is there even enough tint to give the stripes a redish look? Guessing not. Or are they laying down new Ruby Red base and then striping over that before the tinted clear?

The way that I understand this, and by no means am I a paint guy, the existing vinyl stripes are being used as a template and they lightly scuffed the factory clear. Then they will tape off and remove the factory vinyl stripes, prep that surface and paint on the stripes.
Finally clear the entire, front bumper cover, hood, roof, deck lid and rear bumper cover. I got to see a RR F-150 that they did. It looked great.

Put my newly powder coated wheels back on today, finally after the powder coaters had them for 3 weeks:

Three weeks? Shame on them. I hope it was worth the wait. From my seat, they look great.

That makes sense. Saves a lot of time masking to use the existing vinyl. Since I didn't have any vinyl stripes (plus wanted non standard widths and gaps), it took a LOT more time for them to mask. I mean just keeping the width of a stripe consistent was tedious work without something already on the car to use as a guide.

Out of curiosity, could you ask how much it would cost to re clear the whole car?
May be a good option to have a much better and thicker clear.

Mine is back at the body shop to have the Spoiler and fender vent dealt with again on my 19. The spoiler adhesive is lifting again and the vent adhesive pulled away from the fender. Letting my Brother in Laws shop deal with it this time instead of the dealer. These are the things that drive me nuts with this car :(
